OK, but Did You Catch This Charming Travis Kelce Moment in ‘Quarterback’?

These two have had each other’s backs for awhile now.

If you’ve been paying attention to football recently, you may have noticed the chemistry between a certain couple. They’ve been spotted at the same games, they’re both stars in their own right (arguably the best at their respective positions), and the NFL is completely obsessed with them. In other words: They just get each other.

Of course, we’re talking about quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ most dynamic duo. The pair have worked side by side since 2017, when Mahomes was selected by Kansas City in the first round of the NFL draft. In Season 1 of Quarterback, the eight-part docuseries about Mahomes’ 2022 season (the series also follows Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota), you can often spot Kelce in the background, buzzing around the field, ready to assist Mahomes on his way to the end zone.

A group of women in long, modest dresses stand in a dirt area, backs to the camera, with one woman in a cowboy hat, white shirt, black pants, and pink boots facing forward against a backdrop of mountains and greenery.

But their connection doesn’t end when the play does. Mahomes and Kelce are often seen hyping each other up on the sidelines and in interviews. In Quarterback, they also appear together on New Heights, the podcast Kelce co-hosts with his brother Jason (the latter is a center for the Philadelphia Eagles). In Episode 6 of Quarterback, “Under Pressure,” you’ll see Jason introduce the pair at the five-minute mark. “While [Patrick is] running and gunning, Travis is a-flanking,” he says.

Talk about a football force to be reckoned with.
