Season 3 is ready to pop the cork on a new era for Joanne and Noah — and the music is there to make sure you feel every fizzy, exhilarating moment. “This season feels like Champagne,” says executive producer and co-showrunner Jenni Konner. “That was our North Star.”
For a show this famously steeped in good songs, the Season 3 soundtrack had to follow suit, with a run of beloved needle drops that turns the season’s biggest romantic, chaotic, and celebratory moments into full-on events.
The musical world of Season 3 is filled with big, instantly recognizable names, including Miley Cyrus, Stella Lefty, and Ravyn Lenae. These songs help shape the emotional arc of the season, turning romantic breakthroughs and major milestones into something bigger.
Here’s a full rundown of the official soundtrack from EP and album producer Simon Tikhman and music supervisors Jonathan Leahy, Manish Raval, and Tom Wolfe. In Season 3, Episode 1, Noah and Joanne have finally taken the monumental step of moving in together, marking a new chapter in their relationship — and the show wastes no time making the moment feel appropriately celebratory. Enter Usher’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home),” which accompanies Noah settling into domestic life with Joanne with exactly the kind of swagger you’d expect. The series keeps the “daddy” energy going in Episode 2, when Noah fights to return to Temple Chai; the installment is literally titled “Daddy’s Home.”
“Noah’s ‘daddy’s home’ energy is really appealing and really fun, and Joanne is loving it,” co-showrunner Jenni Konner says. “It’s really exciting and flirty. We really leaned into that, and I think that’s part of the reason for the butterflies of Season 3 too.”
In Season 2, Noah’s place in the temple hierarchy was thrown into question. Once considered a rising star on the fast track to becoming senior rabbi at Temple Chai, his relationship with Joanne seemingly upended that dream. But in Season 3, Noah is done apologizing for who he loves. He’s determined to reclaim his place at the center of the synagogue, and Episode 2 gives that mission the only soundtrack it could possibly have: DMX’s “X Gon’ Give It To Ya,” with a mimed blow of the shofar as an accompaniment.
Episode 4: It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Noah gets down on one knee and proposes to Joanne. Their romance has weathered its share of ups, downs, and wildly complicated detours, so a moment this important needs a song to match. And you don’t get much more epic than Taylor Swift.
“Lover” is Joanne’s favorite Swift song, too, making the needle drop all the more meaningful: Noah specifically planned for it to play as he popped the question, turning an already unforgettable moment into the ultimate millennial-romance fantasy.
The dreamy engagement was inspired by creator Erin Foster’s own proposal. “All roads lead back to me every time,” she explains playfully. Read all about the true story behind the romantic moment here.
Episode 4 closes with a romantic, stripped-down rendition of Miley Cyrus’s 2023 song, transforming the track into something softer and more intimate. The pared-back arrangement gives the moment a tender, swoonworthy quality, providing the perfect soundtrack for the episode’s final emotional beat.
Episode 7, a special bottle episode, finds Morgan heading across the country to New York City with Sasha in tow after a major career win. He’s there to celebrate her success, but their long-simmering chemistry only gets messier: The romance starts to heat up, but so does the indecision, leaving both of them caught between what they want — and what they’re willing to go after.
There’s perhaps no better soundtrack for that particular emotional limbo than LCD Soundsystem’s “New York, I Love You but You’re Bringing Me Down,” the ultimate bittersweet ode to loving something — or someone — while wondering if it’s actually good for you.
Noah and Joanne’s impromptu beach wedding in Episode 10 gets a swoonworthy country soundtrack with “My Kinda Love,” by Stella Lefty and Bailey Zimmerman. If the song sounds unfamiliar, there’s a reason: The pair only just debuted it live, making this romantic seaside moment an early chance to hear the track.
