This article contains major character or plot details.

Zoey is the bright, excitable lyricist and rapper of HUNTR/X — affectionate and endlessly optimistic. Her boundless energy and warmth make her instantly likable, but also easily distracted: she’s the first to fall under the Saja Boys’ hypnotic charm and the last to break free from their spell. Though outwardly confident, Zoey quietly struggles with feeling like she doesn’t belong; living between the US and Korea, she always felt pulled between the two. But beneath all the sparkle and self-doubt, she’s also incredibly strong. You’ll never meet a more loyal friend.

Even if you’ve watched KPop Demon Hunters more times than you can count — and legions of fans have — there’s always more to learn about your favorite adorable rapper and lyricist. Read on for everything you need to know.

Zoey’s story arc

Zoey’s character arc in KPop Demon Hunters evolves from eager, people-pleasing sidekick — worried that she’s “too much,” yet “not enough” — to self-assured, emotionally grounded hero. When Rumi’s demonic secret comes to light, Zoey’s trust is shaken, forcing her to confront the fear that she’s been blind to the truth — but even so, she never fully turns on Rumi. By the end, Zoey learns that true strength isn’t about maintaining constant cheerfulness or earning approval — it’s about standing firm in who she is, even when others might not accept her.
