Whether it’s a stadium filled with screaming, adoring fans or a group of snarling demons looking for trouble, the KPop Demon Hunters have one major objective: slay.
In the animated original film produced in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Mitchells vs. The Machines) — now streaming on Netflix — K-pop superstars Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo) use their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from growing supernatural danger. Together they face their biggest threat: an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.
The voice cast also includes Ahn Hyo-seop (A Time Called You, Business Proposal), Byung Hun Lee (Squid Game, Mr. Sunshine), Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken, Community, The Masked Singer), and Daniel Dae Kim (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Lost).

As the charismatic leader of the K-pop group HUNTR/X, Rumi is confident, ambitious, and hardworking. She maintains a positive attitude to keep her bandmates motivated, but under that perfectly crafted outer shell lurks a deep fear that others will discover her big secret.
“There is so much happening for Rumi,” Cho told Netflix. “One of the things I really loved about the character is that she’s so relatable to so many of us. She is a sister to the girls, she’s the leader, she has such a big heart, and she wants to do all these amazing things while she’s battling her identity issues.”

Although she comes from a traditional family, Mira is rebellious, spirited, and unafraid to push boundaries.
“Mira is a skeptic,” Hong noted. “I think of her as someone who isn’t the most trusting at first. [But] once she trusts someone, they’re bonded for life.”
Perceptive and secretly attuned to how her bandmates are feeling, Mira is a force to be reckoned with, as both a member of HUNTR/X and a demon slayer. “[She] is a burning fire,” Hong says. “She’s really passionate and doesn’t let it show sometimes.”
Hacks, Full Circle, Fantasmas

Zoey, HUNTR/X’s resident rapper, is also the youngest of the group and takes her little sister (“maknae”) role to heart. A Korean American who grew up in Burbank, CA, she is eager to please and fiercely protective of her friends.
“She’s the only Korean American in the group and is really trying to figure out what that means and where she belongs,” Yoo explains. “Feeling a little bit [like an outsider], she’s always providing ideas to seem irreplaceable — which she is. She just doesn’t necessarily know it herself.”

HUNTR/X faces their biggest threat in The Saja Boys, the demon boy band taking the K-pop scene by storm. Their lead singer Jinu is the ultimate heartthrob who was once human but sold his soul to the evil Gwi-Ma in exchange for musical talents and fame.
“A long time ago, Jinu made a very dangerous but life-changing decision in order to protect his family, and that choice led to suffering and being trapped in darkness with his soul under [Gwi-Ma’s] control,” Hyo-seop explains. “Despite all of that, I think Jinu still [hold] onto warmth and has a deep sense of love and curiosity about humanity.”
Jinu can be direct and sassy as well as vulnerable and sweet, but don’t forget that under that bad boy bravado hides a demon who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Gwi-Ma exudes big villain energy. Although he’s been reduced to a set of massive fangs and lips hovering in the shadows after years of being cut off from the human realm, there’s something uneasy about his presence that strikes fear in the bravest of warriors.
Beware: This ominous being is a master manipulator who uses his powers to exploit the weaknesses of those around him. With Jinu as his Trojan horse in the human world, Gwi-Ma plans to overthrow KPop Demon Hunters’ titular heroes and finally get what he’s always wanted: the world.
The Magnificent Seven

A former K-pop star and demon hunter, Celene is Rumi, Mira, and Zoey’s ex-band manager turned demon hunter expert who trained the girls to be the best at what they do.
However, Celine’s greatest achievement is adopting and raising Rumi after her fellow hunter and bandmate died in childbirth. Though she exudes wisdom and grace, the shame of her decisions and how they have affected Rumi haunt her memory.
Lost

Often overwhelmed and out of breath, Bobby is a hard-charging agent and doting manager who will yell and scream to get what’s best for the group while offering tea and encouraging words for the girls. He may not know about their secret life as demon hunters, but Rumi, Zoey, and Mira would not be where they are without him.
Dr. Ken, Community, The Masked Singer

Kim appears as the healer, a surprisingly perceptive ally to our titular demon hunters.
Lost, Hawaii Five-0

Koshy brings her infectious energy to the film as an on-air host.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Booster lends his voice to several characters in the animated feature, including Variety Show Host 2, Idol Host, and Romance Saja.
