The TV world is all aflutter, because Emmy weekend is here! The star-studded ceremony, hosted by Dan Levy and Eugene Levy, will take place this Sunday evening in Hollywood (and air live on ABC at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET); last weekend, the first two rounds of statuettes were distributed at the Creative Arts Emmys.
That means time is limited if you want to catch up on the nominees before the big winners are announced — and with 107 nominations for Netflix titles this year, there’s no shortage of options. But don’t worry! No matter how much time you have this weekend to devote to doing your Emmy homework, you can make sure you spend it on a stream that sticks you right in the middle of the awards season action, whether with a pair of films, a trio of docs, or a powerhouse collection of multi-nominated drama series. Happy watching, and happy Emmys!

A new European adventure for Emily! Season 4, Part 2 of Emily in Paris has now landed, following our American heroine as she expands her horizons. Pas pour vous? Take a look at Uglies: Based on the novel of the same name by Scott Westerfeld, the new sci-fi action movie from McG stars Joey King as a young woman who lives in a dystopian future where beauty is mandatory and individuals designated as “ugly” are required to receive cosmetic surgery.
Give the movies their moment! Catch two Netflix original films that were nominated this year for Outstanding Television Movie (just prepare for a significant shift in tone halfway if you watch them back-to-back). Philip Martin’s Scoop stars Gillian Anderson as BBC journalist Emily Maitlis, and dramatizes the process of securing and shooting Maitlis’ infamous 2019 interview with Prince Andrew (played by Rufus Sewell). And for dessert, take a bite out of Unfrosted, Jerry Seinfeld’s comedy inspired by the story of the development and launch of Pop-Tarts in the ’60s. The imaginative (fictionalized) history’s all-star ensemble includes Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Max Greenfield, Amy Schumer, and more.
Go off-script with three nonfiction titles. Bao Nguyen’s music doc The Greatest Night in Pop, nominated for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special (as well as Directing and Sound Editing), recounts the recording of 1985’s We Are the World, which brought together dozens of the biggest names in music of the era. Learn about a different kind of star with BECKHAM, director Fisher Stevens’ four-part docuseries that delves into soccer (or, um, football) icon David Beckham’s life and career, which won the prize for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series. And finally, stream the talk-show special My Next Guest with David Letterman and John Mulaney — winner for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special — which sees the two funnymen go deep in a sprawling, honest conversation.
Let yourself get a little dramatic with three much-nominated series. First, the sixth and final season of Peter Morgan’s The Crown, which imagines pieces of the life of Queen Elizabeth II (Imelda Staunton in Seasons 5 and 6), scored a staggering 18 nominations, including for Outstanding Drama Series and in all four drama acting categories. Next, the breakout hit black comedy–thriller Baby Reindeer, starring creator Richard Gadd as a struggling writer and bartender dealing with a stalker, is up for 11 awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series as well as Lead Actor for Gadd. It’s competing in both of those categories with the stylish psychological thriller Ripley (which picked up 13 nods total), created by Steven Zaillian and based on Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr. Ripley. Andrew Scott is nominated for his performance as the slippery title character.
Don’t forget, you have one last chance …
… to catch a killer. Halina Reijn’s 2022 dark comedy-horror movie Bodies Bodies Bodies features an ensemble cast of young stars (including Rachel Sennott, Pete Davidson, and Amandla Stenberg) as a group of friends whose murder-themed party game becomes a real-life whodunit. Next week, it’ll drop dead.
