Stream The Gray Man now on Netflix
Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans aren’t pulling punches in this new clip for The Gray Man, revealed during a panel at Geeked Week. Meeting for the very first time, CIA shadow assassin Sierra Six, aka The Gray Man (Gosling), and his nemesis Lloyd Hansen (Evans) use everything at their disposal to take one another down — including insults.
“You must be Lloyd,” The Gray Man says as the latter slams him against a wall. When Lloyd asks what gave it away, he quips: “The white pants. The trash ’stache. It just... it leans Lloyd.” Ouch.

The interplay between cutting sarcasm and ferocious action is something of a signature move for the Russo brothers, who previously directed Evans in two Captain America movies as well as the Avengers franchise.
“Joe and I like to play with tone,” Anthony Russo said during the panel. “Part of that scene is really brutal and kind of shocking. And then all of a sudden it twists and becomes very witty and sort of strange on a character level. The ability to be able to pivot between those kinds of ideas as filmmakers and as performers is difficult and something we like to play with because it’s just exciting to watch.”
