Romance is the Saja Boy with oodles of dramatic poses, flirtatious fanservice, and a lion’s mane of pink hair, often placing his hand on his heart to signal his sweetness. “Charming and often flirtatious, Romance Saja’s strengths include having the best hair in the group and the ability to manifest hearts out of thin hair,” says KPop Demon Hunters head of story Ryan Savas. As character designer Marion Bordeyne says, ideas for his appearance ranged “from a romantic lead type to more actively seductive, but he ended up leaning into a more comedic aspect, with the extra special touch of heartshaped bangs. Beneath that endearing exterior, however, lurks a demonic mindset as he loyally serves Gwi-Ma and helps Jinu execute their soul-stealing scheme.

Romance first steps into the story deep within the demon realm, emerging during a charged meeting with Gwi-Ma. Standing beside Jinu, he listens as the plan to create the Saja Boys — an engineered rival group meant to undercut HUNTR/X’s influence and disrupt the balance of power — is unveiled. From the moment he appears, Romance radiates a mix of swagger and barely concealed menace, signaling the role he’ll play in the unfolding conflict. Once he and the rest of the Saja Boys cross into the human world, their ascent is swift. Through carefully staged performances, viral charm, and supernatural charisma, they build momentum that culminates in their electrifying, showstopping rendition of “Your Idol,” a number designed to both captivate audiences and mask their demonic intentions. But as the performance unravels and the truth begins to surface, Romance seizes a moment of chaos and launches a desperate, last-ditch attempt to take down Zoey and Mira. His confidence falters quickly, however; despite his power and bravado, he’s no match for the demon-fighting girl group, who overpower him with a force that leaves his ultimate fate hanging in uncertainty.
