When a story as beloved as Heartstopper comes to an end, we inside of Netflix headquarters knew we needed to do something special for finale film Heartstopper Forever. The romance between Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) has won hearts around the globe.
How to honor an occasion like this? Enter the Archivist, a specialist in tracking down the items that make your favorite tales magical. The Archivist has set their sights on Heartstopper Forever, and gone through the archive of pieces that make up creator, writer, and executive producer Alice Oseman’s heartfelt goodbye to Nick, Charlie, and all their friends. Fittingly, the movie itself whisks you through Heartstopper history with a sweet memory book appearing in its last scene.
“It’s really special to be with Nick and Charlie and to be going through those memories together at the end of the film,” Oseman tells the Archivist. “It’s saying, ‘Hey, this thing happened, and it was really joyful and beautiful and we had a great time.’”
Now you can go through those memories yourself, with up-close video and photos of five key mementos of Heartstopper Forever — including some never-before-seen pages of Nick and Charlie’s memory book, the complete set of photos that get the couple back together, and so much more. Although Heartstopper has come to an end, these keepsakes will be here for you, well, forever.

Nick and Charlie’s Memory Book
(1) Memory book, gifted from Charlie Spring to Nick Nelson
“It’s so meaningful for Nick and Charlie to be looking back on all their memories. But it’s also meaningful for us because we’ve been on this journey with Heartstopper and with Nick and Charlie,” Oseman says.
The photos and videos obtained by the Archivist include event tickets (remember their trip to see Jack Maddox?), Parisian — and prom — memorabilia, and, of course, lovable photo booth pictures. This archival dig also reveals something else: never-before-seen pages of the memory book. You can spot photos of Charlie and Nellie, the Truham boys at school, and the couple on many charming dates.
There’s even a heartwarming note written by Charlie during his time in treatment during Heartstopper Season 3.
As you take in all the darling details, keep in mind the very last one: The book has endless blank pages for Charlie and Nick to fill with their future adventures.

“That was a really important thing to put in there because it just says the story goes on. This isn’t the end for Nick and Charlie. They’re still only 18 and 19,” Oseman says. “They’ve got their whole lives ahead of them and there’s going to be more photos, but we don’t have to see them. We just know that they’re going to be OK.”

Charlie’s Head Boy Pin
(1) Truham Grammar School head boy enamel pin
On first watch, you might have missed the head boy pin affixed to the lapel of Charlie’s Truham blazer. But the adornment signifies one of Heartstopper’s biggest transformations.
“Charlie’s popular now. What a turnaround,” Locke says. We see the proof in the first few minutes of Heartstopper Forever, after his impassioned head boy campaign speech. His vulnerable words — about being bullied, and his desire to change the school’s culture of homophobia — are met with deafening applause, and Charlie is awarded top honors in return.
“Charlie in Year 10 would never have thought that,” Locke continues. “This film feels like a very nice arc for Charlie as a character.”
Charlie’s new accessory didn’t come easy for the character — or the actor. “I had to actually do Charlie’s head boy speech in front of a room of 200 boys,” Locke laughs. “I felt like I was back in school.”

Charlie’s Campaign Flyer
(1) Handmade flyer for Charlie Spring’s head boy campaign
In the seasons leading up to the finale film, Nick has been a steady support system for Charlie in his times of mental health crisis and bullying. “Charlie is at the final stage of this lack of self-confidence, and he’s starting to believe that he can get to where he wants to go and that he has that within him,” says Connor. “That speech is the major affirmation and validation of that desire and his suspicion that he could do it.”
Oseman felt strongly that Charlie’s head boy speech should usher in the finale film. “It took us a long time to figure out where to start. Starting where Charlie is on top of the world immediately tells the audience how far he has come on his journey,” says Oseman. “It’s also such a classic Heartstopper feeling: celebrating being who you are and standing up for what’s right. That felt like the best way to start.”

Nick and Charlie’s Disposable Camera Photos
(18) Photos of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson
They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. But, sometimes, a whole stack of photos can whisper just four: “Let’s get back together” — and these images do just that.
Within Heartstopper Forever, the photos are taken by Nick after Charlie gifts him a disposable camera. Charlie hopes the forever photos that come from the present will bring his boyfriend solace at university, which is on the horizon. They end up having a much greater purpose once the boys break up. After some time apart, Charlie stumbles upon the camera and has its roll of film developed. The prints move him to tears on a bus, and, later, have the same effect on Nick when Charlie drops them off at his house.
Collectively, Nick and Charlie’s disposable camera photos are a snapshot of young love in bloom: couple selfies (including two we see Nick take when he first gets the camera), date photos, candid moments, and the kinds of portraits that can only come from being deeply enamored with your subject. We see some of them in the film — and you can see the full set here on Tudum.
Seeing the pictures inspires Nick and Charlie to reunite at the beach where they had their first date in Season 1. “It’s a very full circle scene, in both a cinematic and thematic way,” Locke says. Connor agrees, adding, “That place encapsulates their relationship. Everyone has their own special places that they go to, and the beach is one of theirs.”
During their beachside reconciliation, Charlie tells Nick, “We take care of each other,” echoing the sentiment he heard from an older gay couple (played by Derek Jacobi and his real-life husband Richard Clifford) at his coffee shop. “That's actually one of my favorite scenes in the film. I think it’s just a really lovely moment,” Connor reveals.

Nick and Charlie’s Framed Photo
(1) Picture frame with hand-applied stickers featuring Nick Nelson, Charlie Spring, and Nellie Nelson, gifted on the occasion of Charlie’s birthday
As Heartstopper comes to an end, the film nods toward Nick and Charlie’s beginning. The Archivist obtained Nick’s handmade gift for Charlie’s birthday in Season 1: a framed photo of the two boys and sweet Nellie making snow angels the first time they hung out. The image also appears in Heartstopper Forever.
Nick and Charlie’s young faces, framed with stickers, transport viewers to a different time — and serve as a poignant reminder of just how much has changed. “Back in Season 1, there are butterflies and every moment is tension and anxiousness all the time,” says Oseman. “As we go into the film, they’ve been together for so long they feel safe and content.”
