[Tia] Are there any, like, Easter eggs that fans haven't spotted, because they're pretty good at noticing them. Hmm. I'm not talking about leaves changing. We've got that. We know that.
[Alice] Yeah.
[Tia] Do you have any favourite Easter eggs within the film? Alice Oseman is in it, again. Alice is on the train.
[Kit] She…
So she's sort of train girl, really.
[Joe] Mmhmm.
[Kit] Uh…
[Joe] Train girl. Patrick, our exec producer, is… There's a scene where I say, "Latte for Patrick." And Patrick comes and picks up the latte. It's really great stuff. You know, there's a lot of, like, kind of symmetry from season one. Like, we go back to the big place where we had Harry's party in season one, and we kind of sit where we sat for our first kiss. All this fun stuff. I feel like the fans are so good at spotting the Easter eggs, I can't even think of something that they haven't picked out. Sometimes they're overspotting. So it's like things that are either a complete coincidence, or sometimes even mistakes are picked up on. And there's, like, this intense meaning that's kind of, like, worked out. The globe in Charlie's bedroom. Yes. Yeah, that's the best one. So the globe in Charlie's bedroom goes on and off. It's got a light in it, and it goes on and off between different shots. And the fans discovered this, and they were like, "Yeah, it represents, like, Charlie's feelings for Nick." "When he's, like, really… feeling really in love, the globe comes on," or something like that. Actually, it's just a faulty light… [laughs] … that we didn't spot when we were shooting. I thought there's actually quite a lot of symbolism within Nick and Charlie's bedrooms as well. And I feel like from day one to now, there's been, like, a process of, like, visually representing their growth. Can you speak a little bit about some of the Easter eggs in their progression and their journey represented in their bedrooms? Yeah. I mean, there's so much in there. Particularly Charlie's bedroom. Like, there's the music posters and posters of books. And we've tried to, like, age up the bedroom a little bit every time. So in season one, he had loads of, like, stickers everywhere. And, you know, slightly more childish-type things. Like, there's a little light in the shape of a dinosaur. And then now that he's a bit older, he's got, like, vinyl records on the wall.
Yeah.
[Alice] Yeah.
[Tia] Edgy.
[Alice] Yeah. Same with Nick as well. When we first did season one, Nick's like a character that's kind of coming into his identity and, like, isn't quite sure of who he is at that point. And his bedroom is very just sort of typical boy's bedroom. It doesn't have so many, like, pops of personality or, like, his own stamp on things. And then as he starts going out with Charlie, he's got this kind of amazing photo collage of all these special moments with Charlie on his wall. And they're just like the Nick Nelson that we've, like, grown to see is, like, evidenced in the bedroom.
And that's been really great.
Yeah. A lot of the Heartstopper fans are really obsessed with, like, the hidden Easter eggs in the show. Do you have a fave? My favourite thing that we don't really get to delve into is the Instagrams of the characters.
[Tia] Yes.
[Corinna] I love that. When I have my character phone, I'm like, "What's she put on Instagram?" And then I always… Do you know what? I always follow myself, Corinna Brown. And then someone in production will unfollow me.
[laughter]
I'm like, "Damn it!" Yeah. Wait, because it's too meta? It's like breaking…
It's like you've crossed some lines.
They're all on private, obviously. So every now and then, like, I will request it just to see if anyone who's got my character phone will let me in. They never do. Or you get in, then they kick you out. Okay, you have to now.
Like, this is… this is my PSA.
Yeah. Release them. I like it when my books relate to the scene. That's a thing that maybe people don't pick up on. But I think that's really funny. We were on the top of the Eiffel Tower, and I was feeling lonely. And then the book was called The Outsider. Like, whenever possible, there's, like, a joke or a point in the name of the book. What do you think the significance of The Odyssey was? Let's do an intertextual analysis on that. Is it the characters preparing for their journey going forth that we will not see but they will experience?
Nice.
Let's go with that. Or it's me manifesting working with Christopher Nolan. Oh, of course. They're doing that, aren't they? I think they might have already filmed this. I think they might have too. Never know, they might need to reshoot it all. Let's cut Tom Holland out and I'll do it. We're manifesting more movies in our lives.
More movies please, yeah.
Always.
