🤐 SPOILER ALERT 🤐

The case may be closed on Part 1 of You Season 4’s whodunit — but the fun is only just beginning, because Netflix has unveiled the full trailer for Part 2, which launches March 9.

In the first half of the thriller’s fourth season, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) Benoit Blancs his way around London looking for the Eat-the-Rich Killer only to discover that it’s Rhys Montrose (Ed Speleers), the city’s mayoral candidate and Joe’s new friend. Armed with this information, Joe heads into Part 2 determined to stop Rhys before he ruins his life even further. The frenemies have some heated and violent exchange in the teaser above, which also offers fans a mysterious glimpse of Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) — who, if you forgot, is dead.

“It’s not a whodunit,” showrunner Sera Gamble tells Tudum about Part 2. “It’s a different kind of serial killer movie where the guy in the passenger seat is just absolutely gleeful about the position he’s put [Joe] in. [The killer] feels no guilt, no shame and thinks it’s silly that you feel those things.”

In the trailer, Rhys tells Joe that he simply wants a friend who shares his interests. But Joe balks at this, refusing to believe he’s a “cold-blooded psycho” — you know, despite the trail of bodies that have followed him from New York to Los Angeles and Madre Linda.

“The second half of the season is now going to be very much about the relationship between Joe and Rhys,” says Gamble. “We shift into a different gear when they can finally just sit down and have a long conversation about what’s really going on.”

Digging into Joe and Rhys’ dynamic was rather easy for Speleers because of his “instantaneous” chemistry with Badgley.

“We very quickly struck up such a great connection that we were allowed to explore what these two characters wanted from one another very easily. And we were able to build up a trust,” Speleers tells Tudum. “I think that’s very important when you’re working with anybody, is to have that trust and understanding, and never more so as an actor because you just need to feel safe and comfortable to just go out and do what you feel is the right decision for the character.”

There’s also the added matter of Joe and Kate (Charlotte Ritchie). Kate has no interest in Joe when they first meet at the beginning of the season. But, the enemies-to-lovers pipeline beckons and the two form a begrudging bond… only for Joe to end things in Episode 5 to protect her from Rhys. Yet, as Joe admits in the trailer, it’s very hard for him to deny that he wants her, so their love story is far from over.

“She lives right across the courtyard from him. So it isn’t as though he gets to just disappear in the night and she’ll be safe forever,” said Gamble. “It’s more that they are moving in the same circles, and he does really like her, and it’s kind of torturous.”

Season 4 also stars Lukas Gage as Adam, Tilly Keeper as Lady Phoebe and Amy-Leigh Hickman as Nadia.
