Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) returns to the center of the action in The Night Agent Season 3, streaming now, leading a cast of characters ensnared in a sprawling international conspiracy.
Picking up after the explosive events of Season 2, Peter is sent to track down a young Treasury agent who has fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel after killing his boss. What begins as a high-stakes manhunt quickly spirals into something far more dangerous as Peter uncovers a dark money network, evades paid assassins, and crosses paths with a relentless journalist whose pursuit of the truth puts them both squarely in the crosshairs.
Created by Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Timeless) and based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, the hit thriller expands its scope — and escalates the danger — in Season 3. Ryan says the new season will take fans on “an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride across Istanbul, Mexico City, Washington, New York, and the Dominican Republic,” and this time around, Agent Sutherland has more on his plate. “Peter grapples with a dangerous conspiracy at the heart of the White House, a dogged reporter with a hot tip and a murky past, a murder suspect trying to clear his name, a mysterious father and son who leave a trail of bodies in their wake and a new partner who could be his salvation — or his doom.”
Catch up with the returning favorites and fresh faces powering Peter’s most dangerous mission yet. All three seasons of The Night Agent are now streaming — and, as Basso puts it, “Third time’s a charm.”

Struggling with guilt over his actions in Season 2, Peter is desperate to bring the mysterious broker to justice. But in his attempt to capture the dangerous foe, he’s forced to pay a steep price. As the losses pile up, Peter wonders if he will ever be able to fully atone for his previous deeds or if he will have to do more harm in his pursuit of ultimate good.
“He’s definitely flawed. He doesn’t always make the right decision,” Ryan says, reflecting on Peter’s character throughout the series. “Peter desperately wants to do the right thing, wants the best for the most people, but the line of work he’s in demands that you don’t always get to choose between right and wrong — sometimes you have to choose between wrong and bigger wrong.”
Most recently seen in A House of Dynamite, Basso’s earlier credits include J.J. Abrams’s Super 8, the indie favorite The Kings of Summer, and Ron Howard’s Hillbilly Elegy.
