The Beast in Me is emerging once again.
Fresh off of the first season’s 21 Emmy nominations, Claire Danes will return for Season 2 as Aggie Wiggs, a writer who got entangled with her nefarious billionaire neighbor, Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), in Season 1. The forthcoming season is the first installment of a new exclusive creative partnership between Netflix and The Beast in Me writer Howard Gordon, who will also be co-showrunner for Season 2 alongside Daniel Pearle.
"We always told ourselves we'd only do a second season of The Beast in Me if we found a story that was worthy of the first — and I'm thrilled to say we found it,” says Gordon. “We loved making this show and our audience seemed to love watching it, so we're enormously grateful to Jinny Howe and Netflix, and to Karey Burke and 20th Television for giving us the chance to get the band back together and do it again.”

Season 1 of The Beast in Me debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s list of Global Top 10 shows, reaching the top 10 in 88 countries. It garnered 43 million views in just seven weeks.
At the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, Danes was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series, while Rhys took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series. This was part of a history-making night for three-time Emmy winner Rhys. Series composers Sean Callery and Sara Barone also won a Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score).
Executive producers for The Beast in Me Season 2 include Danes, Gordon, Pearle, Antonio Campos, Caroline Baron, Amy Lippman, Gabe Rotter, Conan O’Brien, David Kissinger, Jeff Ross, and Jodie Foster.
