Every Single Time Cal and Jules Kiss in ‘First Kill’

Loving moderately is for chumps, OK?

From their first glances at each other across the school cafeteria, First Kill’s Calliope Burns (Imani Lewis) and Juliette Fairmont (Sarah Catherine Hook) make it clear that their romance is one you want to sink your teeth into, and fast.

The girls’ relationship is the stuff that star-crossed dreams are made of — or, maybe it’s more like nightmares. With Cal hailing from a long line of monster hunters and Jules being, categorically, a monster, they have a lot of obstacles to overcome to be together. But since Jules isn’t the monster Cal expected, a forbidden relationship springs from the strife between the two high-schoolers.

It’s precisely the illicit nature of their affair that makes Jules and Cal’s kisses and love story so steamy in First Kill. It’s also why you can’t help but root for them when they break away from their families to steal a peck. Or, in the words of Juliette, “It’s impossible to be immune to the insanity of first love.”

We couldn’t agree more, which is why we’ve rounded up every single time Cal and Jules kiss in First Kill. Go ahead and take a look, we won’t bite — though they certainly might.

Juliette and Cal Share Their First Kiss | 'First Kill' S1E1 Wow, not wasting any time, huh?

1. When Spin the Bottle doesn’t suck

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 1, “First Kiss” Why it’s steamy: Juliette invites Cal to a party in the hopes that they’d get some quality time together. When everyone starts playing Spin the Bottle, Juliette’s best friend Ben (Jonas Dylan Allen) does her a solid when he grabs the bottle and points it at Cal after Jules spins it... all so his bestie can have some one-on-one action with Cal in the pantry. Now, it doesn’t exactly go as planned when Juliette bites Cal and Cal stakes Juliette. But before that? When they’re grabbing onto counters for stability and knocking over jars of cherries because they’re so lost in the moment? That’s what a Spin the Bottle makeout sesh is all about.

2. Peachy keen

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 4, “First Date” Why it’s steamy: Um, hello, what’s hotter than kissing against a tree with no one around, hearts racing thanks to a near-death experience? Jules and Cal have more than earned a moment to relieve their tension with a kiss in the woods. And, did you notice what was going on with the tree right next to them? It’s literally dropping its peaches thanks to the hotness of their hookup. It’s also the exact same tree Cal saw in a dream she had about Juliette. Can you say fate?

3. Romeo and Juliet, Take 2

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 5, “First Love” Why it’s steamy: Cal and Juliette have effectively run away from home for the night and slipped away to a very apt spot: the set of their high school play, Romeo & Juliet. Since they have quite a bit in common with Shakespeare’s lovestruck teenagers whose families bear an “ancient grudge,” the tender kiss the girls share feels all the sweeter. As Cal tells Juliette, “I’ll always be a hunter. But I will never hunt you.”

4. Even a severing can’t tear them apart.

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 6, “First Severing” Why it’s steamy: So this kiss technically happens in Episode 5, when Cal and Juliette sleep in the makeshift Romeo and Juliet bed at school, but we don’t see it until Episode 6, making it more of a flashback vision than present-day smooch. It’s still worth highlighting, though, because it’s an important glimpse of the tender bond between Cal and Juliette — the same one Cal’s family is desperately trying to sever. But quelle surprise, not even an ancient ritual can tear these crazy kids apart. Sorry, hunters.

5. Who needs a balcony?

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 6, “First Severing” Why it’s steamy: Severing or not, Cal and Juliette’s connection is as strong as ever, even reaching each other in their dreams. But reality is calling, so Juliette climbs up the vines on the side of the Burns house to Cal’s room so she can kiss the girl she’s mad about. Sure, Romeo and Juliet had a balcony for their lovers’ tryst, but this is just as romantic, if not more.

6. “You’re still here?”

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 6, “First Severing” Why it’s steamy: Cal and Juliette’s time together is rudely interrupted when Cal receives a text from her brother Theseus “Theo” (Phillip Mullings Jr.), who she just knows will barge into her room if she doesn’t go downstairs to see him. Juliette’s palpable impatience for Cal’s return means that their reconnection is all the more intoxicating once they’re able to get back to making out.

7. It’s a very good morning, indeed.

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 6, “First Severing” Why it’s steamy: Juliette is soaking up all the remaining time she has with Cal, knowing there’s a time limit since Cal’s family is planning on moving out of town. Although they’ve gotten used to (and gotten off on) sneaking around, the girls are now more out in the open with their love. As Cal points out, the pair have faced down monsters and hunters alike, and nobody has successfully come between them. “We got this,” Cal says, before proving — with a kiss — just how deeply they’ve got each other.

8. “We still would’ve ended up right here.”

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 7, “First Goodbye” Why it’s steamy: With the Moms Against All Monsters brigade on the loose in Savannah, Cal and Jules take their love into hiding — something that proves especially important when Juliette’s first kill comes back to haunt them. But while Jules might wish they could erase their pasts and go back to the beginning, Cal reminds her that they “still would’ve ended up right here,” in each other’s arms, where they belong.

9. Who’s the real monster?

When the stolen peck occurs: Episode 7, “First Goodbye” Why it’s steamy: Juliette gets a little spooked after Cal casually drops the info that her family has plans to kill Juliette’s entire, vampiric family. Loving your sworn enemy can get a little tricky, huh? While Cal insists that it’s just part of the job when you’re a monster-hunter, Juliette is still uneasy, asking Cal, “Is my heart safe with you?” But Cal promises not to let Jules down, answering her with a single word — “Forever” — and sealing her vow with a kiss.
