Looking for something easy to devour? New supernatural teen drama First Kill will go straight for your jugular, thanks to plenty of twisty vampire (and vampire hunter) surprises and the forbidden romance of heroines Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Calliope (Imani Lewis). The only thing is, you’ll finish Season 1’s eight episodes before you can even say, “Stake to the heart.” But fear not, there’s a whole world of TV shows and movies worth sinking your teeth into after you’re done with First Kill. Keep reading to find out what to watch next to really get your blood pumping.

If you’re looking for a series to satisfy your blood lust, this series will do just that while also adding a whole new twist to the vampire-vampire hunter romance genre. Juliette — Lettie to her friends — is a queer teenage vampire far more preoccupied with fitting in at her Savannah high school than succeeding in her family’s long history of bloodsucking. Meanwhile, Cal, the daughter of a monster-hunting clan, dreams of being the best supernatural fighter there ever was. Sparks (and stakes and fangs) fly when these two cross paths.

First Kill’s Juliette would see a lot of herself in the French teen drama Vampires. Heroine Doina Radescu (Oulaya Amamra) is a vampire-human hybrid who desperately wants to be a normal teen. Doina’s strict mom Martha (Suzanne Clément) thinks the only way Doina will have that freedom is by popping pills that keep her vampiric cravings at bay (sound familiar, Juliette?). Even the toughest rules can stop Doina’s most thrilling desires from taking hold.

First Kill takes you deep into the luxury that is high vampire society, as the Fairmonts are a marquee legacy vampire family. If you’re craving more vampire parties, check out Night Teeth, starring Debby Ryan. Ryan plays Blaire, one of two vampires using rookie chauffeur Benny (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.) — brother to vampire hunter Jay (Raúl Castillo) — as their driver as they make their way through an evening of bloody good fun.

Castlevania might be an anime based on a video game series, but it has much in common with First Kill. Both series include vampire hunters, vampire society and lots of monsters. Castlevania follows monster hunter Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) as he attempts to defeat a vengeful Dracula (Graham McTavish). This is the perfect gem to watch to expand your vampiric palate.

First Kill makes you question whether vampires — despite their immense power and unquenchable thirst for human blood — are really the bad guys. Vampires vs. the Bronx makes things simple: They’re the villains. Period. Watch the YA movie when you’re in the mood for a family-friendly story of good triumphing over fanged evil.

Like Vampires vs. the Bronx, the series Van Helsing will have you rooting for the vampire fighters — no questions asked. Vanessa Helsing (Kelly Overton) awakens after three years in a coma to learn vampires now rule a crumbling world. As a descendant of the famous monster hunter Abraham Van Helsing, Vanessa becomes the key to saving humanity.

Vampires aren’t the only fantasy creatures inspiring obsession-worthy TV. Just ask Hemlock Grove, a throwback Netflix title that premiered in 2013. The series, set in a Pennsylvania coal town, is often described as “a werewolf drama.” And that’s true — bloody-sexy Hemlock Grove does have werewolves aplenty. But there are also witches, alleged angels and upirs, aka vampires from Eastern European folklore, running around Hemlock Grove.

Spooky series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has all the supernatural intrigue First Kill fans crave. Heroine Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) is confronted by the OG of vampires, Vlad the Impaler (Michael Antonakos), during one of her challenges to become Queen of Hell. Beyond fanged fantasy, Sabrina is filled with enticing horror intrigue and yet another Juliette-Calliope-style tortured romance since witch Sabrina’s first boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch), comes from a long line of witch hunters. And for those searching for more queer fantasy love, look no further than Theo Putnam (Lachlan Watson) and hobgoblin Robin Goodfellow (Jonathan Whitesell).

Not to spoil one of Mike Flanagan’s many Netflix horror masterpieces, but Midnight Mass might just be the ideal series for vampire lovers looking for a new twist on the genre. Come for the chilling perspective on society’s relationship with religion — stay for some surprise bloodsucking behavior. And enjoy the mysteries of Crockett Island all the way through.
