Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) ends Emily in Paris Season 2 on uncertain terms. She’s uncertain about her job. She’s uncertain about where she calls home. She’s very uncertain about her love life. Emily doesn’t even know if she’ll see her boyfriend, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), again, as the British businessman must return to London for work.
Well, one problem has officially been solved: Alfie is coming back for Emily in Paris Season 3, in an even bigger way than before. Actor Lucien Laviscount, who plays Alfie, has been promoted from guest star to series regular ahead of Season 3 production, which begins this summer in Paris. The Emily in Paris team confirmed the news during a PaleyFest event on Sunday.
While Laviscount is now part of the main Emily in Paris cast — joining the ranks of stars like Lily Collins and Ashley Park — he was just happy to be included in the sudsy comedy when he spoke to Tudum in December. “I’ve not really thought too much ahead. Obviously, it would be great to get to do the third season,” he said on Zoom ahead of the Season 2 premiere. “If it does become apparent to the writers and creators that there’s more story that Alfie has that could benefit Emily, I’m all here for it.”
Laviscount thinks letting Alfie take Emily for a spin around his kitchen versus the chic French restaurant run by romantic rival Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), might be the perfect Season 3 date. “She could cook out some right food with Alfie one night,” he predicted. “We’ll put some steel pans on and we’ll have a little bit of a groove. It will be very different from turning up to the restaurant with Gabriel.” In case you had any doubts, this love triangle is clearly alive and well.
