Wake up, babe — Steven Yeun just dropped a new track.
BEEF: The Bonus Tracks EP is now available to stream on music platforms via A24 Music. Composed by Bobby Krlic, the new EP features unreleased title cues from the Netflix limited series, including Yeun’s full-length cover of “Drive” by Incubus. Whether you’re an angsty sad boy or you’re in the middle of your own feud, you can now add the the acoustic track to your road rage playlist.
Created by Lee Sung Jin, also known as Sonny Lee, the dark comedy series stars Yeun as Danny Cho, a struggling contractor who gets into a road rage incident with self-made entrepreneur Amy Lau (Ali Wong). As the two strangers become obsessed with getting revenge on each other, their lives become entangled in a messy web of pettiness and retribution. In addition to BEEF’s unhinged characters, the series also features many angsty and nostalgic bangers to blast in your car.
To bring out Danny and Amy’s inner turmoil, music supervisor Tiffany Anders included several classic ’90s and ’00s rock hits, from the Smashing Pumpkins to Incubus. “All my kind of general rules as a music supervisor kind of went out the window on this show,” Anders told Tudum back in April. “Sonny always had that in the script with Danny singing it, which for a music supervisor makes you think, ‘Oh, no. Don’t do that,’ because then it costs more.”
In the third episode, Danny’s lost all control of his life and seeks solace in a church. With a guitar in hand, he sings Incubus’s 1999 hit as the screen cuts to other characters self-sabotaging. “I think all this stuff really added up creatively really well. It just made the storytelling that much stronger, that much funnier and that much more engaging,” Anders added.
