Pedro Alonso — who plays the titular character in BERLIN, a Money Heist spin-off — wasn’t able to make it to Brazil for this year’s Tudum: A Global Fan Event, but there’s a good reason for that. Alonso has been hard at work on set, creating a world where love and crime are intertwined.
“We are here. High on energy, making good stuff,” said Alonso while taking a break between scenes.
The Spanish actor did find some time to drop a few clues about the much-anticipated series, however. According to Alonso, the new series will follow a younger version of his character before he was diagnosed with the rare degenerative disease Helmer’s myopathy. Another clue to note: The younger Berlin really knows how to have a great time, and he travels to places like Paris.
What else is in store for La Casa de Papel fans? Expect to meet a whole new heist squad — including Keila, Damián, Cameron, Roi and Bruce — with their sights set on €44 worth of valuables.
BERLIN streams on Netflix this December.
