[narrator] Previously on ONE PIECE … My story begins 22 years ago with the legendary pirate Gold Roger. Right before his execution, he told the world of its greatest hidden treasure. 

My treasure is yours to find.

[narrator] The One Piece. I am Monkey D. Luffy, and as long as I can remember, I've been dreaming of finding the One Piece so I can become King of the Pirates! But finding the One Piece meant sailing to the Grand Line, and nobody gets there alone. I needed a crew. Lucky for me, I found the most dangerous man on the high seas, Zoro.

[grunts]

[Luffy] But neither of us are very good with directions. Thankfully, nobody knows maps better than Nami. And just like that … We’re a crew!

Nope, not a crew.

Not together.

[Luffy] After having a few epic adventures and making some great new friends. … Over here. … our search led us to a sharpshooter named Usopp who isn’t afraid of anything. He helped us get our ship, the Going Merry. We then met the best chef in the world, Sanji. Mouton Shot!

[grunts]

[groans] Mouton Shot? 

All great fighters call out their finishing moves. 

Yeah, you’re gonna fit in just fine.

[Luffy] With my crew finally together, we set our sights on the Grand Line. But we weren’t the only ones chasing the One Piece. We’ve been making enemies everywhere we go.

[Luffy] Some want treasure.

Let’s show ’em what terror looks like.

[Luffy] Some want power. 

I will be king.

[Luffy] And some think they can use my crew to get what they want. 

I'm Arlong the Saw.

[Luffy] It turned out that Nami was trapped. She was working for Arlong to save the people that she loved. She asked for help, so we took that shark down, because no one messes with my friends. But that got us more attention from the Marines.

[dramatic music continues]

[all] Grandpa?

[Luffy] A pretty tough guy.

But he won’t stop me.

Give it up. 

That’s not really my thing. 

We’re the Straw Hat Pirates, and the Grand line is calling. We will find the One Piece.

[cheers]
