Alison Hammond:I mean, you told me about this in Part 1, that it was gonna get hot.
Luke Thompson: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: But it gets hot!
Luke Thompson: Okay, good.
Yerin Ha: Oh!
Alison Hammond: Like seriously steamy.
Yerin Ha: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: I'm never going to look at a bathtub in the same light ever again.
Yerin Ha: Okay.
Alison Hammond: In the hotel last night, I looked at the bathtub, like…
Yerin Ha: "I'm missing someone"?
[laughter]
[vibrant classical music playing]
[CLIP] Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek: I can stay as long as you like.
[CLIP] Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton: I was hoping you might stay forever.
Alison Hammond: Well, let's talk about the big reveal.
Luke Thompson: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: Discovering that Sophie is the woman in silver.
Luke Thompson: I know.
Alison Hammond: That necklace.
Yerin Ha: Oh my God.
Luke Thompson: I love that moment.
Alison Hammond: Isn't it beautiful?
Luke Thompson: It's such a beautiful detail. There have been so many details so far, but this is that one thing that makes the penny drop. It's great. It's a great moment.
Alison Hammond: I just still don't get why Sophie just didn't tell him ages ago. Do you know what I mean? Why do you think it is?
Yerin Ha: What a shame.
Alison Hammond: The proposal dance, though, Yerin, was just stunning. What was it like filming those lovely emotional scenes?
Yerin Ha: I'll tell you, it was really hot.
[laughter]
Alison Hammond: Was it?
Yerin Ha: So hot in the ballroom.
Luke Thompson: Yeah, it was.
Yerin Ha: Lots of people, lots of body heat rising.
Luke Thompson: Yes. Yeah, well, it's tricky, isn't it? So many people there.
Yerin Ha: It is a bit of a dance, like literally and metaphorically. But I just remember, the dance is so beautiful. Jack Murphy is an amazing choreographer.
Luke Thompson: Lovely that it starts and ends with a dance.
Yerin Ha: Yeah, yeah, a full circle moment.
Alison Hammond: Can you remember the dance?
[Luke laughs]
Luke Thompson: Um…
Yerin Ha: Uh…
Luke Thompson: No. Uh, I'm sure.
Yerin Ha:Maybe.
Luke Thompson: You know what? It goes somewhere in your memory. And if you stop your mind from getting in the way,it just magically flows back.
Alison Hammond: It just flows back?
Yerin Ha: Yeah.
Luke Thompson: Yeah. So maybe, I feel like if we actually stood up right now for you, we could do it. But I don't think we should.
Alison Hammond: And action.
[laughter]
Yerin Ha: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: It's such a lovely moment. And if you think about the first dance to the last dance and how much has changed.
Luke Thompson: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: The emotion, everything. It's so different and so beautiful.
Yerin Ha: Yeah.
Luke Thompson: It is. It's a lovely… I think it's really good how Bridgerton always manages to make dances properly part of the story. And, like, a dance is sort of how they first met. And, you know, not to go too metaphorical, they sort of dance around each other. It is kind of like a thing. They're sort of like constantly dancing around each other. So, you know.
Alison Hammond: So think about the last dance, Yerin.
Yerin Ha: Yeah. Yeah.
Alison Hammond: The emotional weight of everything. What was that like at the end?
Yerin Ha: It was beautiful. I mean, I remember, like, doing that really tricky step.
Luke Thompson: What was it called? The fleckerl.
Yerin Ha: The flickle.
Luke Thompson: The fleckerl! Have you heard about this?
Alison Hammond: Oh, no.
Yerin Ha: It's a dance term.
Luke Thompson: It crops up on Strictly Come Dancing, I think, sometimes.
Alison Hammond: Is it quite difficult?
Yerin Ha: Yeah, it is quite difficult. But we got there in the end.
Luke Thompson: We got there. It's like you're sort of constantly spinning.
Yerin Ha: But I think, because in the beginning, Sophie doesn't really know how to dance. And then by the end, maybe she's practiced with Alfie or something, like… I… I do think it's a really beautiful, emotional journey of being able to be free and let go and take the pressure off herself. And yeah, I think it's a beautiful… It's an extension of an emotion, I think, for them.
Luke Thompson: And it's lovely that you sort of go back to where you start, you know, like in a strange kind of way that you… you go through… They've gone through this proper, like, emotional roller coaster together, and then they sort of meet again, at the end, having done all that… that beautiful circle.
Alison Hammond: Can we talk about the steamy scenes?
Luke Thompson: Yeah, of course we can.
Alison Hammond: Because… I mean, you told me about this in Part 1 that it was gonna get hot.
Luke Thompson: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: But it gets hot!
Luke Thompson: Okay, good.
Yerin Ha: Oh!
Alison Hammond: Like seriously steamy.
Yerin Ha: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: Very spicy. I'm not gonna… I'm not gonna lie, I loved it.
Luke Thompson: Yeah?
Yerin Ha: Thank you.
Alison Hammond: I'm never going to look at a bathtub in the same light ever again.
Yerin Ha: Really?
Alison Hammond: No.
Yerin Ha: No?
Alison Hammond: No I can’t.
Yerin Ha: Okay.
Alison Hammond: In the hotel last night, I looked at the bathtub, like…
Yerin Ha: "I'm missing someone"?
Alison Hammond: Whoo!
[laughter]
Alison Hammond: Yeah.
Luke Thompson: Try being in it for a day.
Alison Hammond: Oh, tell me.
[laughter]
Alison Hammond: Did they not have any heaters?
Yerin Ha: Pruney hands.
Luke Thompson: Pruney, pruney central.
Alison Hammond: Stop it!
Luke Thompson: You know the petals they sprinkled in?
Alison Hammond: Yeah. It was beautiful.
Luke Thompson: It was. But you know, by the end, after a day, it was like, you know, like cereal? Like when you leave cereal in milk.Decomposing petals.
Alison Hammond: Did they not put new petals on?
Luke Thompson: Yeah, they did.
Yerin Ha: They did. But then, you know, you're in the bathtub there, kind of naked. And then you have Jed and Neil, these middle-aged men, who I love, but they're pouring this milky thing, and then they just mix it while you're in the tub.
Alison Hammond: Did they heat it up for you?
Yerin Ha: They did.
Luke Thompson: It was pretty warm, wasn't it?
Yerin Ha: It was. You did pour hot water over my head. Yeah. It was scalding hot.
[Alison laughs]
Yerin Ha: But, you know, we made it look sexy, I think.
Alison Hammond: And is it really not sexy? Are there a lot of people there?
Luke Thompson: No. There were honestly like
Alison Hammond: Was it a closed set?
Luke Thompson: What's great is with sex scenes they do a closed set, which is, yeah, they sort of bring only people who absolutely need to be in the room.
Alison Hammond: Yeah. I'd be like, "Yeah, I need to be here."
Yerin Ha: [laughter] See you in the corner.
Alison Hammond: I don't know why I didn't get the call.
Luke Thompson: I know.
Alison Hammond: Talking about emotional, when you was in the courthouse, how hard was that? And the jail. It was a lot, babes.
Yerin Ha: Yeah. It was a lot.
Luke Thompson: It's a lot for one episode. They really cram it in.
Yerin Ha: I felt like Jean Valjean.
[laughter]
Alison Hammond: You start singing.
Yerin Ha: Stole a loaf of bread, stole a pair of shoe clips.
[laughter]
Alison Hammond: Turned into a whole new story.
Yerin Ha: Yeah, exactly. Um, it was super emotional. It was like a night shoot as well.
Alison Hammond: Was it cold?
Yerin Ha: It was cold.
Alison Hammond: 'Cause it looked really freezing.
Yerin Ha: It was really freezing.
Alison Hammond: It was intense.
Yerin Ha: It was. And, like, Katie's so good. Like, when they call action, she just switches it on, and she just has this menacing stare.
Luke Thompson: Cold stare.
Yerin Ha: Yeah, cold stare. And she's, like, brilliant, so it just felt like I was reacting to her.
Alison Hammond: She was so good. I can't wait to speak to her.
Luke Thompson: Yeah, she's fantastic.
Yerin Ha: She's the best.
Alison Hammond: Uh, what is in store for your relationship now? Because obviously, we get the wedding, which is just beautiful. So simple, outside in the courtyard. But all the family's there.
Luke Thompson: Hey, there's a little detail. I wear a little pin in my necktie, and it has a tiny kite painted on it.
Yerin Ha: Yeah.
Alison Hammond: Stop it. I'm gonna go back and watch it.
Luke Thompson: I hope you can see it. It's really, really tiny. But it's amazing costume design. It's a small detail. In terms of their story, it feels it really sums them up in a way.
Alison Hammond: Oh, thank you for that little nugget right at the end.
[classical music swells]
[music fades]
