Alison Hammond: Any ideas, any theories on who Lady Whistledown is? I have.

Claudia Jessie: The new one?

Claudia Jessie: Who do you think? Go on, then.

Alison Hammond: I think it's still Penelope. And she just wanted everyone off her back.

Claudia Jessie: That's an incredible theory.

Alison Hammond: Genius, innit?

Hannah Dodd: It would be genius.

Claudia Jessie: Oh my God. 

Alison Hammond: But the only thing, there was a moment where Penelope went, "Who is this?" But I still feel like it's her. She's just not told anything.

Claudia Jessie: She's smart.

Alison Hammond: It's good, innit?

Claudia Jessie: That's an amazing theory.

Alison Hammond: What do you think?

Claudia Jessie: Oh, mate. What do I think? I'm still like…

Hannah Dodd: I really want it to be Hyacinth.

Claudia Jessie: You want it to be Hyacinth?

Hannah Dodd: I would want it to be Hyacinth.

Claudia Jessie: Would be fantastic. 

Hannah Dodd: But then I think that's really hilarious when it gets to her season and she's like, "Hyacinth Bridgerton was outstanding…"

Claudia Jessie: Yeah, exactly. We need to see in the next season who they're really bigging up.

Hannah Dodd: Yeah.

Alison Hammond: Yes. 

Claudia Jessie: And then we'll know, right? Because if they're hinting, like… If it's like, "Hyacinth looked stunning today, by the way…"

Hannah Dodd: We'll be like, "Sis."

Alison Hammond: Then it's her.

Claudia Jessie: Then it's her

Alison Hammond: Let's see. 

Alison Hammond: Let's talk about Lady Whistledown.Obviously…

Golda Rosheuvel: Who?

Alison Hammond: Queen Charlotte is the number one fan of her.

Golda Rosheuvel: Yes.

Alison Hammond: Who is it gonna be? Have you even thought about this?

Golda Rosheuvel: No, I haven't, actually. I'd like it to be Brimsley. That would be funny.

[chuckling] 

Adjoa Andoh: I quite like the Brimsley theory, because, in a way, you know the way Penelope would be at a ball and she'd be sort of in…a wallflower in the corner observing…

Golda Rosheuvel: Just observing.

Adjoa Andoh:…and nobody paying her much attention. What has Brimsley been doing?

Golda Rosheuvel: Have you watched him? Have you seen him?

Alison Hammond: I didn't even notice.

Adjoa Andoh: His little eyes, he's everywhere.

Golda Rosheuvel: Watch him. He's everywhere. 

Adjoa Andoh: His face, he can do a mask of, "I'm saying nothing." But you know he's saying everything, and he knows everything. 

Golda Rosheuvel: Yeah, he does. He's privy to everything.

Adjoa Andoh: Privy.

Alison Hammond: Could be Danbury.

Golda Rosheuvel: That's what she's going off to do.

Alison Hammond: You never know. 

Alison Hammond: We need to talk about Lady Whistledown. 

Jess Brownell: Wait. Let me make sure I rest my face so that I don't give away if you're right.

Alison Hammond: What about you, Tom? Who do you think?

Tom Verica: I think it's the Crabtrees.

[laughter] 

Jess Brownell: The old couple? 

Tom Verica: It's the old couple. They're out of the country, they're trying to enthuse themselves. 

Jess Brownell: But see, this is what is so fun is because, like, you know, Penelope was Julia Quinn's Whistledown, and so we knew we couldn't really play with that reveal for too long because people could just Google it.

Tom Verica: Yeah. 

Jess Brownell: But now, people really don't know, and we really get to play with audience expectations. 

Alison Hammond: What a great twist, though. You killed it with a twist. Well done.

Tom Verica: It is a great, uh… I'm looking forward to it as well. And everyone keeps saying they think I know. I'm like I don't know.
