Gather around, Brellies: One final Hargreeves adventure awaits. In all its bittersweetness, the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy has kicked off production and filming is underway. As a special treat, the cast you know and love are here to provide you with a behind-the-scenes snapshot from their first table read of the new season.

Seen in the photo are the siblings and Umbrella crew that by now feel like part of your own dysfunctional (and superpowered) family, including Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min and Ritu Arya.

When Tudum spoke with showrunner Steve Blackman about the release of Season 3 last June, he shared that Season 4 will explore one of the biggest mysteries from Gerard Way’s graphic novels, the source material for the series. “I don’t want to say what it is, but the fans will probably figure it out,” he said.

Last season ended with a whole lot of change: a new timeline that is entirely dictated by the family’s patriarch, Reginald (Colm Feore), and one in which our heroes don’t have powers. Not to mention that Allison and Sloane (Genesis Rodriguez) are MIA. Blackman teased that the oddities are only just beginning with the siblings losing their powers. “There are new enemies who want to see them wiped out of existence,” he said. “But how do they manage without their powers? Is there even a way to get them back?”

The point of the matter is: “The stakes have never been greater.”
