The last time we saw the Umbrella Academy brood, they were coming to terms with the fact that their adoptive dad, distant billionaire/adventurer/secret alien Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore), created a new timeline by assembling the mysterious Sparrow Academy siblings instead of raising the Umbrella Academy after meeting the Brellies in 1963. And now, we can finally learn who the Sparrows are and what their entrance into The Umbrella Academy Season 3 means for our heroes. Because Tudum is premiering the first introduction of the Sparrows in The Umbrella Academy Season 3 — right here, right now (none of these siblings are known for their patience).

The clip serves as a meet-and-greet for the Sparrows, whom we see enjoying various parts of their lives in a montage before eventually lining up to confront the Brellies in the Sparrow mansion. As the Season 2 finale revealed, Ben Hargreeves (Justin H. Min) is alive and well in this new timeline and a proud member of the Sparrows. The clip confirms he is the Sparrows’ Number Two — and far more interested in bottle service and trendy clubs than being Klaus Hargreeves’ (Robert Sheehan) ghost BFF, as Umbrella Ben was. Sparrow Ben was even a surprise for Min, who tells Tudum, “I didn’t know I was going to come back alive.”

The rest of the video unveils the six new Sparrows that fans are far less familiar with. There’s Marcus (Justin Cornwell), who exercises in front of his adoring fans; Fei (Britne Oldford), who uses birds to help herself rock climb; Alphonso (Jake Epstein) and Jayme (Cazzie David), who fight bullies for free pepperoni pizza; Sloane (Genesis Rodriguez), who dreams of a life outside of the Sparrow Academy; and Christopher, a glowing cube with a wicked sense of humor. As you can see in the clip, the Umbrella Academy is less than enthused to meet the rival Hargreeves kids.
Epstein, who you may recognize as Degrassi dreamboat Craig Manning, knows that a character like Alphonso — who can reflect any attack, but holds decades of abuse on his body — is a departure from past roles. “Getting to put on this crazy costume is something that I never would’ve imagined I’d get to do. It was very freeing,” Epstein tells Tudum. “Shout-out to [makeup artist] Kyle Glenncross for designing the whole outfit and gently telling me, ‘It’s all OK. It’s all OK,’ as he applies wads of glue to my face.”

At least those three hours of prosthetics application was for the greater good. You can watch three minutes of Episode 1 right now and check out the rest of The Umbrella Academy Season 3 when it debuts June 22.
