Brellies, grab your briefcases for one last Hargreeves adventure. The fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy is in now, and you can see the trailer above. “[It’s] really, really packed with classic Umbrella Academy family nonsense and shenanigans that you look forward to,” says Emmy Raver-Lampman, who plays Allison Hargreeves, in a cast featurette you can watch at the bottom of this article. “There’s some unbelievable new characters and villains that are super exciting.” And David Castañeda, who portrays Diego Hargreeves, describes Season 4 as his “favorite season.”

For Gerard Way, who’s both the creator of the Dark Horse comics on which The Umbrella Academy TV series is based and lead singer of My Chemical Romance, “The End” playing in the trailer felt like it was meant to be. “We’d never thought a My Chem song would be in an Umbrella thing, but we were all very excited actually, because nobody had ever asked for that song,” Way tells Tudum. “We had actually always felt it would be really good in the trailer. So the fact they asked for that song and not ‘Black Parade’ was really cool.” When Way watched the trailer, he thought, “ ‘Whoa! This looks really good.’ ”

Based on the comic series of the same name by Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy premiered in 2019 and follows a group of estranged siblings with superpowers who are reunited after the death of their father.
Last season ended with a major twist: There’s a new timeline dictated by the family patriarch, Reginald (Colm Feore), and the siblings no longer have their powers. That’s not the only oddity in this timeline, where the stakes are higher than ever before — there are new enemies who want to see them wiped from existence, but how do they face their enemies without their powers? And will the siblings ever get them back?
