The Pieces of Her are all starting to come together. The new trailer for the upcoming miniseries offers a chilling look at the past and present of Laura (Toni Collette) — and the state of mind of her daughter Andy (Bella Heathcote) as Andy peels back the layers of her mom’s true identity.

Based on the best-selling Karin Slaughter thriller of the same name, Pieces of Her asks what you would do if you saw the sweetest, most unassuming person you know — we’re talking a beloved mother, speech therapist and lifelong resident of a tight-knit beachside town — kill a total stranger in cold blood. If you’re anything like Andy, you might want some damn answers. Before she can find any, though, footage of Laura’s altercation goes viral. Now in the public eye, Laura’s forced to confront enemies, an identity and a world she once left behind… and Andy, astounded and desperate for an explanation, is forced to skip town for her own safety.
