“Firstly, cry,” Anne narrates over a torrent of shots of her weeping throughout Persuasion, based on the novel of the same name by Jane Austen. If the course of true love never did run smooth, the road of heartbreak is even rockier. “Love me or kill me now — I can’t bear it,” Anne complains. Anne also recommends some helpful tips, like “listening to those well-meaning friends” and “finding a dashing new suitor.” Anne’s apparent rebound choice, the well-heeled Mr. Elliot, played by Henry Golding, makes a very splashy debut in the clip. 

But breakups are messy. So not all of Anne’s advice is perfect. Watch the full video to see some of her more embarrassing moments, along with some very sexy prolonged eye contact between supposed “exes” Anne and Wentworth. Maybe this love isn’t quite so dead after all.
