The treasure hunt is far from over.
The Pogues are back for more action and adventure with a fourth season of Outer Banks, streaming now. John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) are back for the biggest season yet — split into two five-episode parts, with Parts 1 and 2 out now.
While one chapter of the Pogues’ story has closed, the next phase of #P4L has only just begun, and the hunt for Blackbeard’s gold is on the horizon. Here’s everything we know about Season 4.
Up top! Straight out of Poguelandia: An Outer Banks Experience, the Season 4, Part 2 trailer has washed ashore. Featuring the song “Us Against the World” by Jungle, the Pogues really are going back to basics — it’s them against the world, trying to keep what’s theirs. In the trailer, John B says, “All of us, we made a home. Now it’s all on the line. The question is, what would we risk to protect it?” Watch the trailer now.

Right here! After their return home from the City of Gold, the Pogues were planning on living the simple life, with treasure hunting in the past. But as John B asks in the trailer, “Come on, how long were we really gonna stay out of trouble?” Get ready for the Pogues to get back in the “G” game this season with the Season 4 trailer above. Are they disaster magnets? Maybe. Do we love ’em anyway? You’d better believe it!
Yup, scroll on through to see the Pogues (and some Kooks) back on Kildare in Season 4. Woogity woogity!

Last we saw of the Pogues in the Season 3 finale,18 months had passed since they found the gold in El Dorado. They were still grappling with the deaths of both Ward (Charles Esten) and Big John (Charles Halford), but were actually taking a moment to process their hard-won victory. After all, “they couldn’t completely lose the third season,” co-creator Shannon Burke previously told Tudum. Co-creator Josh Pate added, “We knew we needed to give them a win, but it ended up being a complicated one. We wanted the audience to feel that they had accomplished something and that it wasn’t all for nothing.”
With the stakes higher than ever in Season 3, the creative minds behind Outer Banks, executive producers and creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Burke, told Tudum they hoped fans would really feel the strength of the Pogues’ friendship. “There’s all this action and adventure, but it’s really about the bond between the friends,” Burke said. But most importantly, Josh Pate wanted all the wannabe Pogues watching at home to feel “the sense that there’s more coming.”
Following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s (David Jensen) proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, Season 4 takes us back in time to the lead-up to that moment. After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a “normal” life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed “Poguelandia 2.0,” where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer and are drawn back into the “G” game for a whole new adventure.
But before they know it, they’re well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels, racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?

And here to welcome you to The Cut’s own Kildare County surf shop are the Pogues themselves. The surf shop is coming to the OBX this fall!
Check out these three commercials (all written and directed by Daviss) to get psyched. Filming all three in one day “was one of my most fun days on set,” Daviss tells Tudum. “Because you’re with your friends doing the thing that you wrote and they’re doing it exactly how you imagined it. I felt like after working with them for so long, I know their comedic tendencies and I know they would bring so much personality that wasn’t on the page there, and they did. We were able to do it so fast because of that!”
Starving after a day out on the open water or dirt bike racing? Grab a bite at the Kildare Kitchen with fruits, veggies, and pot(ted) plants straight from the Pogues’ on-property garden. And if you’re feeling brave, put your taste buds to the test by taking Cleo’s Ghost Pepper Gumbo Challenge. (Make sure you sign the liability waiver first!)
Heading to the Outer Banks on a trip? Well then, how about a deep-sea adventure fit for a Pogue at JJ’s Deep Sea Charters and Scuba Tours? Hosted by captain JJ Maybank, surfer and dirt bike enthusiast, head out to sea on his mighty vessel, The Snapper. You’ll catch wahoo, drum, mackerel, and more! Then it’s back to the Bait & Tackle Shop for all your bait and tackle needs. Watch the commercial here for more info!
Check out another surf shop commercial here to learn even more about where you can find all your island essentials, at a one-stop shop built by Pogues for Pogues (and some Kooks!), on the old Maybank property. Want to schedule a custom surfboard design session with Kie? Hit them up now!
What would OBX be without the Pogues coming back for their next adventure? Returning series regulars are Stokes as John B, Cline as Sarah, Bailey as Kiara, Daviss as Pope, Pankow as JJ, Grant as Cleo, North as Topper, and Starkey as Rafe. In addition, Fiona Palomo will return as Sofia and has been upped to series regular.
But wait, there’s more! Here are all the new (tanned) faces you’ll meet in Outer Banks Season 4:

Right here! In classic OBX John B narration, he tells us that the Pogues finally did it — they found the gold. “That’s where the story should have ended. But really, it was just the beginning.” Get a glimpse of the Pogues’ adventure coming home this fall in the teaser trailer above. The stakes are higher than ever in Season 4 — as John B puts it, “We have everything to lose this time.”
At none other than Poguelandia, of course! In February 2023, Poguelandia took over Huntington Beach, California, with an immersive fan event, re-creating the Pogues’ island paradise. All the Pogues took to the stage with a couple of the kookiest Kooks — Drew Starkey and Austin North — at Poguelandia to drop the news that Season 4 is on the way … all before Season 3 had even arrived.
Sitting on the edge of the stage, Stokes told the crowd that they were the first to know that “Outer Banks has been renewed for a fourth season!” He took a moment to thank the fans for sticking with John B, the Pogues, and even the Kooks for three and a half years. “This is an incredible moment for all of us,” he said. “To our cast and crew, thank you so much for all of your hard work.”
The gang was back on Kildare Island — with the Twinkie — from June 2023. Check out behind-the-scenes photos of them on set.
Yes. The Pogues have kicked off their flip-flops (and hopped in the shower) because Season 4 filming has officially finished. “It has been a crazy, crazy journey,” says Stokes. “But it’s done.” And now that they’re “wrapski,” the Pogues are game to get in on the postproduction. Check out the video above to see Grant try her hand at ocean sound effects and Daviss jump on the computer to edit. Jokes aside, they’re all “so stoked” to bring Season 4 to the fans. Now we just have to count down the days of postproduction (hopefully minus any Pogue input), and we’ll be back on Kildare Island before we know it.

The Pogues washed back up on shore with Part 1 on Oct. 10 and Part 2 on Nov. 7. Relive all four seasons of Outer Banks now on Netflix — and keep coming back to Tudum to learn more about the Pogues’ latest adventure.
And remember … P4L.
