What brought Queer Eye’s Fab Five, Chrishell Stause, Hannah Gadsby, Alaska 5000, Fortune Feimster (and her dog), Julia Fox and the cast of The Ultimatum: Queer Love all together in one room?
Well, a stacked slate of unscripted series and comedy specials featuring immense LGBTQ+ talent ought to be celebrated. And so it was during All Out: A Night of Pride with Netflix on Thursday evening in the heart of West Hollywood. On one side of the room Stause, who recently announced her marriage to singer G Flip, was twirling away to the beats before linking up with Selling Sunset co-star Chelsea Lazkani. On the other, Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese and friends held court below a group of mermaid aerialists, who performed in honor of the upcoming series MerPeople.
But once Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski and Tan France appeared, all eyes turned to center stage, where the Fab Five tossed beads out into the crowd in honor of their New Orleans-themed season.
As the newcomers on the block, the couples from the The Ultimatum: Queer Love, a new dating series whose debut season features women and nonbinary people, were thrilled to be “part of a grander library of storytelling about the queer community.”
“To be a part of something like this as someone who’s so proud to be queer and to want to show everyone and to have people feel pride if they are queer as well is such an exciting experience,” Vanessa Papa tells Tudum. Adds co-star Mal Wright, “In the spirit of progression we do have to show the things that we go through, and this show exposes us at our rawest.”
