The dating pool is a difficult place to be in the best of circumstances, but it’s even harder when you’ve been shoved in the deep end with no warning. That’s the lesson thriving New York City real estate broker Michael Lawson (Neil Patrick Harris) learns in the new sitcom Uncoupled.
When his loving boyfriend of 17 years moves out, Michael’s steady life is turned upside down — and to make matters even worse, he’s now a 50-year-old man who needs to learn how to use Grindr without accidentally calling an Uber. You can check out the trailer below.

The trailer is full of the trials and tribulations of Michael’s newly single life. We can all relate to at least a few of these moments — the awkwardness of taking a thirst trap at the gym, that out-of-place feeling at the club, the difficulty of re-learning to ski. (Well, maybe some of us are just good at skiing. No need to brag.) Look, it’s tough the first couple of months. He’ll be okay eventually. We think.
Fortunately for Michael, he’s got a great support system. Joining Harris in the cast is a dream team of comic talent, including Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Emerson Brooks and Marcia Gay Harden. Newly announced guest stars include André De Shields, Colin Hanlon, Dan Amboyer, Gilles Marini, Jai Rodriguez, Nic Rouleau and Peter Porte. And Michael’s behind-the-camera team is just as qualified; the series was co-created by Emmy-winning duo Darren Star (Sex and the City, Emily in Paris) and Jeffrey Richman (Modern Family).
All eight episodes of Uncoupled hit Netflix on July 29. Tune in from your sofa, from the gym — wherever!
