Metal Lords may be produced by the creators of Game of Thrones, but it shares very little with that sprawling fantasy epic — except, perhaps, a similarly wide-ranging and talented cast. These actors run the gamut from unknown young rockers to more seasoned professionals, and we’re here to give you a tour of their qualifications. Check out where you’ve seen the cast of Metal Lords before, as they do their best to win their own Game of Thrones — or rather, Battle of Bands.

You probably know Martell from his lead role in the It films, or as the alt-right teen in Knives Out. The young actor has been on the rise since 2014, when he appeared opposite Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy in feel-good dramedy St. Vincent (currently streaming on Netflix). Martell is a bit less precocious and a lot more rebellious in Metal Lords, playing Kevin Schlieb, a heavy metal drummer (and hopeless romantic on the side). It’s an inevitable pivot for any child actor — you can’t play the cute smart kid forever. But we’ll always have Martell’s unforgettable role as a scheming boy genius in Colin Trevorrow’s borderline cult classic The Book of Henry (also now streaming on Netflix).

Metal Lords is Greensmith’s first ever film appearance. He plays Hunter Sylvester, Kevin’s heavy metal–obsessed band partner, and he memorably takes the stage in full Kiss makeup. Not a bad way to start your career.

Emily Spector is the hot-headed young cello player who comes between Hunter and Kevin as they search for a bassist. “Didn’t I say no Yokos?” Hunter asks when Kevin develops feelings for her. Sure, it’s a sexist reduction of Emily’s role in the group, but she’s not the type to shrink from a challenge. Hainsworth has popped up in period pieces like Emma and Hulu’s Harlots television series, but she’s a decisively modern woman here — right down to screaming the c-word as she storms away from marching band practice.

Manganiello is one of the most recognizable faces in Metal Lords. You might know him from the iconic “I Want It That Way” scene in Magic Mike XXL, or from his four seasons as a lovelorn werewolf on True Blood. One thing’s for sure: You definitely remember his abs. On Netflix, he’s been an action hero opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Sabotage and a charming comic foil opposite Pee-wee Herman in Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. Fun fact: Manganiello has a long-running Dungeons & Dragons campaign with Metal Lords screenwriter D.B. Weiss, and Metal Lords music supervisor/Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello.

The dean of Kevin, Isis and Hunter’s school is played by Sufe Bradshaw, who’s perhaps best known for her recurring role as Selina Meyer’s secretary Sue on Veep. She’s also appeared in small roles in Netflix’s Murder Mystery and J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot. You can also see her starring opposite John Boyega and Keke Palmer in Imperial Dreams.

The Stranger Things star plays Hunter’s disapproving father in Metal Lords. It makes sense — “disagreeable guy” is a character type Gelman has refined over the last few years. He’s been a nasty brother-in-law in Fleabag, a bizarre co-worker on Netflix’s Love and an Arnold Palmer–loving husband in The Other Guys. Here’s hoping he gets to spread his wings sometime soon and play someone chill for a change.
