Natalie (Reinhart) is about to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin when a study session with her friend Gabe (Ramirez) turns into a casual hookup. Fast forward to graduation night and Natalie is sick at a party, taking a pregnancy test in the bathroom. At that point, her life has two possible futures: one in which the test is positive and she chooses to have the baby, and one in which the test is negative and she goes on to pursue a career in animation. As a mother, she must move back in with her parents and navigate co-parenting with Gabe. As an aspiring animator in LA, she finds the industry is more challenging than she anticipated, and having a social life is near impossible, a hard reality she shares with upstart filmmaker Jake (Corenswet). In both timelines, Natalie must find her voice and figure out what she wants out of life.
Look Both Ways takes place in and around the suburbs of Austin and in Los Angeles.
