Have you ever wondered what your life might look like if you made completely different choices? That’s the question posed by Netflix’s upcoming feature Look Both Ways. In the hotly anticipated film, Riverdale star Lili Reinhart plays Natalie, an artist on the eve of her college graduation. As she prepares to enter the world of adulthood, we’re given a glimpse into the possibilities her future has to offer. In a pop culture year already full of multiverse shenanigans, Look Both Ways offers up a whole new way of looking at the world. How, you may ask? Well, here’s everything we know about the film so far.
Look Both Ways covers two alternate timelines for Natalie: one in which she becomes pregnant and remains in her Texas hometown to raise her child, and another in which she moves to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an artist. In both, she finds herself struggling to keep her passion for art alive in a world that doesn’t make it easy, and experiences life-changing love, heartbreak and rediscovery.
“On both sides, it is about women striving for excellence and that is what drew me to it,” director Wanuri Kahiu told the Golden Globes. “Either through motherhood or artistry, it is about women striving for excellence. That is the most important thing and that is the big takeaway and why I wanted to be part of the project.”

Alongside Reinhart, the film stars Luke Wilson (Legally Blonde, The Royal Tenenbaums), Aisha Dee (The Bold Type), Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), Nia Long (The Best Man), Andrea Savage (Veep) and David Corenswet (The Politician, Hollywood).
Wanuri Kahiu (From A Whisper, Rafiki) directed Look Both Ways, and the film was written by April Prosser (Plus One). Reinhart also serves as an executive producer on the feature, along with Alyssa Rodrigues, Jini Durr and Jeanette Volturno.
The film hits Netflix on August 17, 2022.
