The countdown to the third and final season of Locke & Key isn’t the only thing that’s ticking.
In a new clip, the youngest Locke sibling, Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), wanders off from a wedding, distracted by whispers coming from an old grandfather clock. As he approaches, Bode discovers a key that unlocks the clock and turns back time. The lights dim and he’s immediately transported back a few centuries, coming face-to-face with his ancestors Benjamin (Carson MacCormac) and Miranda Locke (Chloe Akavian). Talk about a family reunion!

With two different generations of Lockes teaming up together, who knows what doors they’ll open in Season 3. Although this will be the last installment of the series, co-showrunners and executive producers Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill feel it’s the right time to say goodbye.
“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” they wrote in a statement last April. We might not know what darkness awaits behind closed doors, but we do know from the clip that all you need is a magical key for tracing back your lineage. (Move over, 23andMe.)
Lock & Key Season 3 premieres Aug. 10, but in the meantime, check out the full trailer here.
