The symbols are coming together: Robert Langdon’s next mystery is officially afoot.
Production has begun in Prague on Netflix’s currently untitled series set in the world of Dan Brown’s bestselling The Secret of Secrets, the sixth novel featuring the famed Harvard symbologist. Morgan Spector will lead the series as Langdon, with Rebecca Hall playing Katherine Solomon. You can see the pair in a behind-the-scenes photo from set above.

The series is based in the world of The Secret of Secrets, Brown’s 2025 mystery thriller.
The story follows symbologist Robert Langdon as he races against ancient forces — and the clock — to rescue a missing scientist and recover her groundbreaking manuscript, which contains discoveries that have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind.
The adaptation will blend futuristic science with mystical lore, bringing the suspense, international intrigue, and history-spanning mysteries of Brown’s novels to the screen.
For co-creator and showrunner Carlton Cuse (Lost), the combination of a globe-spanning thriller and some very big questions was a no-brainer. “The chance to work with Dan Brown to bring Langdon into a new chapter onscreen is a genuine thrill,” Cuse tells Tudum. “I was drawn in by the combination of exciting elements: It’s a propulsive thriller set in a fantastic location: Prague. It’s also a great love story, and a provocative exploration of human consciousness. The chance to tell a story that operated on so many different levels really excited me as a storyteller.”
Morgan Spector (The Gilded Age, The Plot Against America) stars as Robert Langdon, the brilliant Harvard professor whose knowledge of symbols, religion, art, and history has repeatedly landed him at the center of mysteries with world-altering consequences.
“Morgan is a truly wonderful actor whose work is always filled with intelligence, thoughtfulness, and humanity,” Cuse says. “He’s the perfect fit for Robert Langdon — a brilliant academic whose curiosity, intelligence, and intellect are the tools of his trade.”
Rebecca Hall (Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, The Beauty) plays Katherine Solomon, whose relationship with Langdon will also introduce a new dimension to the longtime hero. “For the first time ever, Robert Langdon has a serious love interest — and that changes many of the ways he sees the world,” says Cuse. “It’s an exciting evolution of the character.”

If there’s an ancient symbol to decipher, a centuries-old conspiracy to unravel, or an existential mystery hidden inside a work of art, Robert Langdon is the man for the job.
The Harvard professor and symbologist first appeared in Brown’s Angels & Demons in 2000 and returned in several more books, including: The Da Vinci Code (2003), The Lost Symbol (2009), Inferno (2013), and Origin (2017). The Secret of Secrets, published by Doubleday on Sept. 9, 2025, is his sixth adventure.
Since the global success of The Da Vinci Code, Langdon has become one of contemporary literature’s most recognizable heroes. Brown’s novels have sold more than 250 million copies in 56 languages, and the Langdon film series has grossed approximately $2.24 billion worldwide in 2025 dollars.
The new series format will also give Cuse and his team more room to explore Brown’s mixture of fast-paced suspense and moral questions. “Before this project, I’d read most of Dan’s books and loved them,” Cuse says. “They’re incredibly propulsive, but they’re also deeply thoughtful and full of big ideas.”
For Cuse, bringing one of those stories to a Netflix series opens up new possibilities. “The chance to adapt one as an eight-hour series felt like an opportunity to fully realize the breadth and scope of what Dan does on the screen in the best possible way.”
Carlton Cuse and Dan Brown are co-creators of the series. Cuse serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, while Brown — the author of The Secret of Secrets and the Robert Langdon novels — executive produces.
Cuse’s previous television credits include Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Locke & Key, Bates Motel, and Five Days at Memorial.
