🤐 SPOILER ALERT 🤐
In Heart of Stone, Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot) is a woman on a mission — to protect a high-tech supercomputer from falling into the wrong hands. Stone’s bosses are a diverse group of spies known only as the Kings, leaders of a mysterious international agency known as the Charter. They’re played by a few familiar faces — Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda, The Secret Life of Bees) plays the King of Hearts, and Mark Ivanir (Barry, Babylon Berlin) plays the King of Spades. The other two Kings are an even bigger surprise: cameo performances by Tony winner BD Wong and eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close.

“That group of characters who run the Charter was quite a nice opportunity for cameo casting,” director Tom Harper told Tudum in June. “They’re quite juicy little roles that people could have fun with. Glenn and BD relished the chance to come in and have some fun, and we were lucky to have them.”
Of course, Close and Wong are not long for Heart of Stone’s world. In a shocking sequence, the two end up as casualties in the fight over who gets to control “the Heart.” “We wanted to show the threat of our villain and of the Heart,” Harper said. “You need to see what the consequences and danger posed by this weapon are. Killing them off provided an opportunity for that.” Sorry, Glenn and BD. Rachel Stone will make sure that your sacrifice was not in vain.
Heart of Stone is streaming on Netflix now.
