Ready to get locked and (re)loaded? At Tudum: A Global Fan Event in 2023, Arnold Schwarzenegger announced that he’ll “be back” as Luke Brunner for more laughs and shenanigans in FUBAR Season 2, which is streaming now, only on Netflix.
“Season 2 is bananas,” creator Nick Santora (Reacher, Prison Break) said when the series was initially renewed in 2023. “We’re coming up with some real fun surprises for FUBAR fans in Season 2, for sure.”
“It is bigger, it is better,” Schwarzenegger tells Tudum — and you can see proof in the official trailer above. “There are more laughs. There is more of everything … including one more legend!”

He’s talking about action titan Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, The Acolyte), who’s joining the series to play a German spy named Greta Nelso, who also happens to be Luke’s ex.
“They are icons,” Santora says. “They know how to do action, be funny, and create full and engaging characters. So it was great to just sit back and watch them do their thing.”
“We just got to have so much fun,” Moss tells Tudum. “I don’t know if I’ve ever had so much fun doing a job.”
Read on for more intel about FUBAR Season 2.

Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro return as FUBAR’s father-daughter spy duo, and Moss joins the cast as Greta Nelso, a former East German spy who has a passionate history with Luke.
Watch and listen to Barbaro on the podcast Skip Intro with Krista Smith as she discusses her dance scene in Season 2, her stunts in the action sequences, and her take on the eternal question: What does “FUBAR” mean?

Other returning cast members from Season 1 include Travis Van Winkle as Aldon, Fortune Feimster as Roo, Milan Carter as Barry, Scott Thompson as Dr. Pfeffer, Fabiana Udenio as Tally, Andy Buckley as Donnie, Jay Baruchel as Carter, Adam Pally as The Great Dane, Tom Arnold as Norm, Aparna Brielle as Tina, and Barbara Eve Harris as Dot.
“My team from Season 1 became even more of a family,” says Schwarzenegger.

Action fans are getting the unprecedented opportunity to see two of the most beloved legends of the genre share the screen.
“I talked to Nick, who I’d actually worked with before, and he pitched it to me,” says Moss. “I watched the show, and I laughed so hard. And in the way that he described Greta, I just thought it would be really, really fun. And, of course, working with Arnold was just an amazing thought in my mind — like, how amazing would that be?”
“I had such a fantastic time filming with Carrie-Anne Moss,” says Schwarzenegger. “She’s a badass in every way.”
In addition to some explosive action scenes, you’ll also get to see Moss show off her comedy chops, as well as a thick German accent. Luckily, the laughs started right away between Moss and Schwarzenegger.
“The first time that I met him was actually in a dance rehearsal,” she says. (Yes, there’s a dance scene. And no, we can’t tell you more about it yet.) “We just jumped in, and it was just so fun. He’s just a hoot. We got to know each other, rehearsing to start with, and then on the set, and then we’d run into each other at the gym and have breakfast. I mean, fun is just the word that comes up all the time.”

At the end of Season 1, Santora teased that the extended Brunner family will have “a million things they’re going to have to deal with,” such as what’s going on with the shady analyst Tina, played by Brielle. “In Season 2, we’re going to go in knowing there might be a rat in the kitchen. And what are they going to do about that?” Not to mention that Luke and all his fellow agents’ identities have been exposed. “They’re in deep dog doo-doo, for sure,” said Santora.
“Well, as you know, to keep the gross analogy going, trying to clean up dog doo-doo can be messy,” Santora adds. “In life, when you’re in a tough situation, the only way out is through — but luckily, our team is able to go through it together. Whether the characters are blood relations (like Luke and Emma) or colleagues (like Aldon, Roo, Barry, and Dr. Pfeffer) or former spouses/fiancés (like Tally, Donnie, and Carter) or total weirdos (like the Great Dane and Norm) — they are family, and they know the only way they are going to survive is as a family working together. And they’re going to have to do so if they don’t want the world to end as we know it!”
Says Schwarzenegger, “I promise, you’re going to love it. And it’s perfect timing — Father’s Day weekend.”
We asked a few of the FUBAR cast members what Father’s Day gift they’d get for Schwarzenegger.
“Boots,” Milan Carter tells Tudum, not missing a beat. “That man's boot collection is insane. If you’ve never looked at Arnold's boots, do yourself a favor. Go to every picture you’ve ever seen of Arnold and look at them boots.”
“I think I'd get him a rescued kangaroo,” says Van Winkle. “A kangaroo that needed a home, that was homeless or something. I think he would really appreciate adding to his collection.”

The new season was underway as of May 2024. In honor of starting production on Season 2, FUBAR broke a Guinness World Record by building the biggest action figure in the world. A regular Luke Brunner action figure stands at 5.52 inches. This guy? He stands at 265.7 inches, or 22.14 feet. “And next season’s action figure will be twice as big,” says Schwarzenegger in the video above. “Season 2 is coming — enjoy it.”
Santora serves as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. Schwarzenegger stars and executive produces FUBAR. Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Phil Abraham, Amy Pocha, Seth Cohen with Skydance Television’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell also executive produce.

Even in the midst of fending off bad guys and healing the wounds of family trauma, the Brunners and their tribe of agents still know how to have fun along the way — and are definitely in for some more in Season 2. After all, who says an explosion can’t be funny? Certainly not the FUBAR cast, who were cracking up throughout the five-month shoot of the spy-centric action-comedy’s first season.
Luke’s team spent most of the first season facing off against the enemy of the public, Boro (Gabriel Luna). “Sometimes Arnold would start the day with an improv line, just to start off with a joke, and he would just set the levity for the day,” Milan Carter tells Tudum. “You think he’s this muscular, governor, serious man. But really, Arnold just has jokes for days,” he continues. “He would have us all breaking all at random times because he would throw out these lines that you would never expect.”
The cast would also take turns repeating back Schwarzenegger’s Austrian accent to him, “every day, all day,” Feimster tells Tudum. Adds Van Winkle, “We can’t help it. It’s just par for the course.”
Van Winkle tells Tudum how one day, in the CIA jet on set, “we were all just trying to perfect his accent and doing a terrible job at it. But he’s sitting there, almost critiquing us and he doesn’t get offended by it. I think he actually appreciates it.”

But as for who the Governator himself thinks had the most FUBAR takes? “That’s probably Fortune, because she just keeps going,” Schwarzenegger tells Tudum. “She just spills out. She’s just funny. I think that actually everything can be used, but they stayed with the script. She is just hilarious.”
Meanwhile, Feimster would bet her money on Barbaro. Why? Because “she had so much to learn,” she says. “She and Arnold both had the lion’s share of the lines, so she was constantly having to memorize, memorize, memorize. She would be like, ‘Ugh, sorry.’ She was such a perfectionist. We’d be like, ‘Girl, it’s fine. We’re all going to have those moments.’ ”
The real crown jewel, though, came in getting Schwarzenegger himself to crack a grin. “If you get Arnold to smirk, that’s a victory right there,” Carter says. “He’ll sit there, stone-cold staring at you, make you think it’s not funny. You get that smirk? Success.”
As Van Winkle says, “Day made.”
Go ahead and make your day by watching FUBAR Season 2, streaming now.
