Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream now on Netflix.

In Season 1 of Extant, Molly (Berry) comes back to Earth after 13 months in space alone on a mission. She’s reunited with her family, but finds it hard to get back in the swing of things after being away for over a year.
For years prior, Molly and her husband, John (Visnjic), a robotics engineer, have struggled with infertility issues. In light of that, John develops a prototype of a humanoid robot, Ethan (Gagnon), whom they’re raising as their son. But during her routine physical after coming back to Earth, Molly learns that she’s gotten pregnant, though she has no idea how. Two clues come into play: She recalls a mysterious sighting of her dead ex-lover while she was on the spaceship, and she receives a message from Harmon Kryger (Brad Beyer), an International Space Exploration Agency (ISEA) astronaut who faked his suicide and claims to know what happened to Molly.
On the humanoid robot front, John has received funding from the Yasumoto Corporation to continue his research, of which Ethan is patient zero. As John continues to develop the Humanich, Ethan deals with learning about both his human and robotic nature. While Molly investigates to try to find out if ISEA is somehow involved in her pregnancy, she unearths bigger secrets that begin to threaten her family and her life.

According to Merriam-Webster, the word extant means “currently or actually existing; still existing: not destroyed or lost.”
There are two seasons of Extant. The series ended after its second season aired in 2015.
