Elimination rounds on Dated & Related are emotional events. But few exits cause as many tears as the moment Ceylan departs the villa in Episode 9 after getting rejected by latecomer Rachel. Ceylan’s sister, Alara, is left openly weeping by the pool. Considering how beloved Ceylan is by his co-stars, it’s difficult to understand how he didn’t find a stronger match sooner — or, if there was a cast connection viewers didn’t see. In the newest episode of podcast We Have the Receipts, hosts Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Chris Burns ask finalist Alara for the inside scoop on Ceylan’s Dated & Related love life.
It seems there was one romance Alara was rooting for all along.
“Julia’s my girl. I wanted Julia and my brother to get together,” Alara tells Lauren and Chris. But, after getting to know Julia, Alara decided her BFF (with whom she still FaceTimes “every other day”) might not be Ceylan’s perfect match.
“Obviously, Julia wanted another thing. Soon, I realized that Julia could not be for my brother because she's very picky,” Alara continues. “And I would want someone amazing for my brother.”
While Alara isn’t sure which fellow Netflix reality star would be perfect for Ceylan — Chris, on the other hand, puts forth one very compelling option during the podcast — she does reveal exactly what kind of woman she wants for her brother. “His type is Jamaican… anyone who looks like his ex,” Alara says, laughing. Then, she gets serious. “Whoever is genuine, treats him nice and appreciates his presence, I’m happy with.”
However, it sounds like Ceylan, who is an aspiring YouTuber, will be doing just fine until he finds that mystery lady. “He does not have a boring life,” Alara says suggestively. “My approval means so much to him. [When] he finds that girl who supports him with his career, who loves him in and out, he’ll obviously bring her to us.”
