“Dated & Related, it’s not how it sounds / But could you fall in love with your family hanging around?” This lyric was our very first taste of Dated & Related, courtesy of Nick Lachey. Now we have all the details on what could be one of the most awkward dating experiments ever.
Hosted by Melinda Berry (who, as a previous Too Hot to Handle contestant, knows that falling in love isn’t always easy), Dated & Related follows pairs of siblings (and, in one case, cousins) as they attempt to help each other find “the one.” And, with $100,000 at stake for the winning family, keeping those bonds strong is more important than ever — though, as many of us with siblings know, having your brother or sister around might do more harm than good.

“How do you feel about me and him maybe sharing a bed?” one contestant, Alara, asks brother Ceylan in the teaser. His response? “It’s gonna be weird.” You got that right.
Here’s everything you need to know before the villa opens its doors.
All 10 episodes of Dated & Related will be available to stream on Sept. 2.
Watch the official trailer for Dated & Related. Be warned: It contains enough cringey sibling moments to scare off even the most foolhardy of f-boys.

The original cast includes six pairs, with everyone from blond party-girl sisters (the Bajors, self-described “Paris Hilton cowgirls” from Texas) to two Norwegian/Iranian bombshells (the Parsijanis, identical twins living in London). Other families include the Roppos, a brother-and-sister duo from Seattle who want partners to jive with their active lifestyles and Christian values; the Bishops, charming twins from London who already have tons of experience in wingmanning each other; Jason Cohen and Chris Hahn, Italian cousins from New Jersey who are more like brothers; and the Millers, a brother and sister from Florida who couldn’t be more opposite. But don’t worry — if these singles aren’t feeling willing to commit to Thanksgiving with the family just yet, Berry has some secret sets of relatives in her back pocket, ready to make more mischief than two siblings on family vacation.
Despite the added familial twist, Dated & Related won’t feel unfamiliar to fans of dating shows like Love Is Blind and Too Hot to Handle. Contestants are shacked up together in an exclusive villa, and through a series of challenges and double dates, fall in love — except, of course, your sibling is also there, doing the exact same thing. The theory is that no one knows you better than your brother or sister (or, in one pair’s case, cousin), so they should be able to wingman you best, right? Right? Hopefully, because the winning duo could nab a cash prize which should impress the rest of the fam come the holiday season.
Sibling pairs from across the world arrive at a luxurious villa in the south of France for the chance to find love.
