🤐 SPOILER ALERT 🤐
Emily’s not the only one with an iconic fashion moment in Season 3 of Emily in Paris. Her Agence Grateau colleague, Luc (Bruno Gouery), isn’t necessarily known for his sartorial choices, but in the penultimate episode of the season, Luc gets dapper in his tuxedo to attend the opera with boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu). The only problem: He doesn’t have enough time to change between work and the event, so he wears his tux to the office. And then has tomato soup for lunch. You see where this is headed.
“This season particularly, I have so many outfits I like,” Gouery tells Tudum of his expanded wardrobe. “[Costume designer Marylin Fitoussi] gave me many [outfits] I don’t wear in real life, but it’s good for [giving Luc some flair].”

Season 3 also fleshes out the backstories of many of Emily’s colleagues as we learn more about the inner workings of Agence Grateau. It’s satisfying for an actor and, Gouery thinks, for a viewer as well. “That’s the reason why you can enjoy Season 3, because you know all the characters and you see them grow up.”
A few new sides of Luc we learn about, for instance, are that he lives on a boat and is in a long-term romance with Marianne, a Michelin restaurant reviewer. (Yes, this comes into play as Gabriel opens his new restaurant.)
“It was all new for me. I also discovered, obviously,” Gouery says of his character’s home life. “It was fantastic to see these options by the [writers], because that makes [a lot of] sense to Luc, to have that boat, to have Marianne. It’s very particular.”
And while Gouery doesn’t know if Marianne will be back in Season 4, he’s hoping she will. “You’ll notice that with Marianne, we speak in English. I think because [the writers] think to see each other speaking English, it’s more fun for the audience. I don’t know why, but I feel that’s the reason we [could] see Marianne in the next season. Perhaps we discover she’s not French.”

Whatever the writers and actors end up discovering in Season 4, it gives fans of Emily in Paris the chance to build the kind of camaraderie with the characters that the cast already enjoys. Gouery says the cast often goes out to bars together or spends long evenings outside at Parisian cafés. He and Samuel Arnold, who plays Grateau colleague Julien, have traveled to London and the south of France together for work.
And speaking of discovering, there’s the small matter of the cliff-hanger with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Camille (Camille Razat) that we’ll need resolved. Gouery is as curious as any fan to see what the writers come up with. As he says, “They [always] surprise us.”
