Anthony and Joe Russo have taken characters to some far-flung corners of the world over the years, from the pavements of New York City to the loneliest depths of space. With The Gray Man, they’re at it again, launching a global manhunt that takes the protagonists across multiple continents.
Ryan Gosling plays Court Gentry, recruited from a life sentence in a federal penitentiary for a top-secret assignment as a spy and assassin. Code-named Sierra Six, he’s what’s known as a Gray Man — one who lives and dies in the shadows.

On his tail is former colleague turned mercenary Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), who won’t let anything get in the way of carrying out his hit. So what happens when you have two people at the top of their game battling it out in the historic streets of Europe? Destruction, and lots of it.
In this exclusive clip from their panel at Netflix’s Geeked Week, the Russos explain how the cat-and-mouse dynamic between the characters informed where they decided to shoot some of The Gray Man’s most spectacular action sequences. The action thriller premieres on July 22, 2022.

Geeked Week is a celebration of Netflix’s immersive slate of storytelling across sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, anime and more.
