The proposals have been accepted. The limos have been booked. But what to wear? Prom should be all about you and your friends making memories to last a lifetime. You’ll want to look back at those photos and see your sparkliest, most authentic self. Luckily, we have all the inspiration you need: Whether you want a classic look or you’re searching for something a little less traditional, whether you want to go trendy or retro (like, ’80s retro … or 1800s), you can turn to your favorite Netflix character for inspiration. Read on to raid their closets.

Jo Ellen Pellman as Emma Nolan and Ariana DeBose as Alyssa Greene embrace in ‘The Prom.’

Alyssa Greene and Emma Nolan

The Prom

There are plenty of exciting and colorful looks in Ryan Murphy’s musical The Prom. But this couple, with their pink, purple, and blue palette, deserves a shout-out for saving prom from the PTA in their small Indiana town, who would rather cancel the dance than let them go together.

Wednesday Addams

Wednesday

Wednesday Addams isn’t one to shy away from standing out in a crowd. Don’t be afraid to take a page from her book and go with something less traditional. You can still find some beautiful prom looks — think black, think feathers, think drapey Victorian fabrics — if you choose to embrace your weird side

Emma Mackey as Maeve Wiley attends prom in ‘Sex Education.’

Maeve Wiley

Sex Education

Maeve knows all about accessories and she tends to keep her looks simple. But that’s where the addition of statement pieces comes in — layer a few necklaces, throw on some fun earrings, and add a pop of color (pink hair never goes out of style).

Patricia Allison as Ola Nyman attends prom in ‘Sex Education.’

Ola Nyman

Sex Education

If a dress isn’t really your thing, take some inspiration from Ola’s classic suit and bow tie before showing off your moves. Tailoring is for everyone!

Eli and Auden

Along for the Ride

For classic looks that emphasize the spirit of summer love, look no further than Eli and Auden. Eli pairs his formal tux with black Vans sneakers — the perfect combo, really. You can also borrow from the bookish and reserved Auden, as she steps into bold colors with her flowy yellow dress and bright red lip.

Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson attends the Snow Ball in ‘Stranger Things.’

Dustin Henderson

Stranger Things

You don’t need to go to the Upside Down for these prom ’fits. While these characters may have cleaned up for the Hawkins Middle School Snow Ball, they are still serving up some cool looks. It’s all about standing out with fun colors, big hair, and bow ties over neckties. And we know what we’re talking about — friends don’t lie

Noah Centineo as Peter, Lana Condor as Lara Jean, Madeleine Arthur as Chris Donati, and Ross Butler as Trevor pose for prom pictures in ‘To All the Boys: Always and Forever.’

Lara Jean Covey and Chris Donati

To All the Boys: Always and Forever

Five heartfelt letters, two best friends, and one prom. Lara Jean and Chris might be style opposites, but they both know how to put together an iconic prom look. You can turn to Lara Jean for a very classic and dreamy light pink prom dress with sparkles and shine — not to mention her big hair. Or, borrow from Chris’ understated, yet dramatic, simple black dress with a long elbow length glove.

Ava Michelle as Jodi Kreyman stands on stage in ‘Tall Girl.’

Jodi Kreyman

Tall Girl

Whether or not you, too, are a tall girl on a quest for love, ditching a dress for a colorful tux is a daring choice for prom. Jodi not only inspires with her homecoming speech, she also steals the show with her light blue tux, ruffled neck collar, and sparkling silver heels that make her stand out even more.

Drea Torres and Eleanor Levetan

Do Revenge

Get your prom-tourage together — it’s time to do some revenge. So this is certainly not your mother’s prom attire, but these looks are all about creativity, fun colors, and accessories. And who says you can’t wear a cropped two-piece pant set to the big dance?

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar and Ramona Young as Eleanor Wong attend prom in ‘Never Have I Ever.’

Devi Vishwakumar and Eleanor Wong

Never Have I Ever

They may not have gotten their sleek limo with sexy boyfriends for the winter dance, but Devi and Eleanor put together some dazzling looks, with or without a statement necklace.

Brianne Howey as Georgia Miller gets married in ‘Ginny & Georgia.’

Georgia Miller

Ginny & Georgia

OK, so you probably don’t want to wear a ten-foot-long wedding gown to prom, but Georgia’s wedding look is all about the textures, which are fun to play around with for any occasion.

Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington in ‘Bridgerton’

Penelope Featherington

Bridgerton

No one does fashion like the ladies of Regency-era England, so please allow Lady Whistledown to guide you through these royal wardrobes. There are plenty of gorgeous dresses to glean inspiration from throughout the seasons, but we’re particularly fans of Penelope’s spring-fresh floral flourishes, which you can riff on with embroidery, appliqué, or even that most Regency-era technology, the BeDazzler

The Sharma family makes an entrance in ‘Bridgerton.’

Kate, Mary, and Edwina Sharma

Bridgerton

The Sharma family knew how to make an entrance when they joined the Bridgertons and the Featheringtons in Season 2. Kate, Mary, and Edwina Sharma, along with Lady Danbury, officially arrived in vibrant colors, tiaras, and stunning jewels that should have everyone turning their heads.

Gia Kim as Yuri Han in ‘XO, Kitty’

Yuri Han

XO Kitty

It’s certainly no surprise that Yuri, the famous social media influencer, is also a fashionista in this series. Look no further than her dress for the school dance, which ties together fun textures, cool sleeves, and a soft shade of pink.

Rebeka Parilla and Mencía Blanco

Elite

This couple is serving up some edgy attire for the ball in Season 4, which includes metallic neck cuffs and biker gloves. Allow these (sometimes scandalous) teens to inspire you to think outside the box. For example, if you wanted a more feminine take on a suit, you might like Mencía’s look, which pairs a suit jacket with a skirt.

James Majoos as Darren Rivers in ‘Heartbreak High.’

Darren Rivers

Heartbreak High

There’s no shortage of incredible looks in Heartbreak High, especially if you’re looking for exciting makeup inspiration. Here, Darren is showing you some fun ways to use body glitter and jewels to stand out on the dance floor.

Lily Collins as Emily stands in a lavender dress in ‘Emily in Paris.’

Emily Cooper

Emily in Paris

If ever there were a time to be bold, it would be at prom. Emily Cooper certainly has a unique sense of style, so take a look through some of her best ’fits for inspiration. This one’s all about fun colors and patterns.

Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in ‘Sex and the City.’
Everett

Carrie Bradshaw

Sex and the City

There is no other fashion icon quite like Carrie Bradshaw, who always pushed boundaries and created some memorable looks over the series’ six seasons. This simple, yet beautiful, black and floral dress never made it to the runway, but this style is perfect for tearing up the dance floor.

Jennifer Lawrence as Maddie Barker in ‘No Hard Feelings.’

Maddie Barker

No Hard Feelings

Unlike Maddie, you won’t be sneaking into any parties with this look — her pink sparkling dress is definitely a standout and it absolutely dazzles when the light hits.
