Facing one last summer at home before heading off to college can be stressful, especially when you’re a lonely teen gamer who’s too nervous to leave the house. But one such kid on Long Island, New York, is about to be forced out of his comfort zone: His parents have covertly hired a local hottie to date him, which will — hopefully — give him all the confidence he needs to go off into the world. And that’s where Jennifer Lawrence comes in.
Directed by Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys) and co-written by Stupnitsky and John Phillips (Dirty Grandpa), the comedy No Hard Feelings stars Lawrence as a down-and-out thirtysomething who’ll do almost anything to save her family home — even if it means twerking in a 19-year-old’s face.

Maddie, who’s lived her whole life in the Hamptons gets her car impounded and faces foreclosure on her house. While browsing job listings, she finds an ad posted by the parents of a recent high school grad looking for a woman to date their son in exchange for a used Buick. Desperate to replace her car and save her house, Maddie jumps at the chance. When she meets helicopter parents Allison and Laird, they tell Maddie their only son, Percy, needs to come out of his shell (i.e., hook up with someone) before heading off to Princeton for college. After Maddie stages a meet-cute with Percy that turns disastrous, the two begin to get to know each other — and themselves — a little bit better.
