The Bellaries may have created a business empire built on beauty, but their family drama is only getting uglier.

All eight episodes of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 3 are now streaming, bringing Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) and her unlikely ally Mallory (Crystle Stewart) back together to face the deliciously messy fallout from that stunner of a Season 2 finale.

For Kimmie, staying on top may prove even more dangerous than it was to fight her way there. “This is probably the most emotionally charged season for Kimmie,” Williams tells Tudum. Although her new position appears to be a victory, “this is uncharted territory. She’s completely emotionally exposed. She doesn’t know what she’s doing, she doesn’t know who to trust.”

Since Season 1, we’ve watched underdog Kimmie go from dancing for survival in a Chicago strip club to sitting at the head of the table as the chief operating officer of the hair care empire Beauty in Black in Season 2. But claiming her seat at the table was only the beginning. Now, Kimmie must figure out how far she’s willing to go to keep it, and whether or not Mallory is someone she can truly trust.

Watch the trailer to get a taste of the power plays, betrayals, and Bellarie family drama, then keep reading for everything you need to know about Season 3.

What happens in Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 2?

Season 2 of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black ended with a team-up that’s been two seasons in the making. Kimmie, the HBIC (Head Bellarie in Charge) of the Beauty in Black hair-care empire, calls a board meeting to order with none other than queen bee Mallory (Crystle Stewart) by her side. Her former rival has now become her unlikely ally.

“When I read that in the script I was like, finally!” says Williams. “Kimmie and Mallory have spent the whole season circling each other, but they’re also two of the smartest players in the room.

But that’s not all — Kimmie’s now-healthy new husband, Horace (Ricco Ross), arrives to complete this unlikely trio and bring the hammer down on his greedy family. “A lot of truths come to light, and the characters start realizing that the game they’ve been playing is even bigger and more dangerous than they thought,” says Stewart of the explosive finale boardroom meeting.

With the help of Attorney Varney (Terrell Carter), they turn Horace’s entitled sons, Roy (Julian Horton) and Charles (Steven G. Norfleet), his dodgy brother, Norman (Richard Lawson), and his resentful ex-wife, Olivia (Debbi Morgan), over to the FBI for their nefarious business dealings.

“What I love about those final episodes is that they leave the audience at a moment where everything feels like it’s about to explode,” says Stewart. “Alliances are shifting, motivations are being revealed, and the characters are forced to confront the consequences of the choices they’ve made.”

What happens in Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 3?

Season 3 picks up in the aftermath of Kimmie and Mallory’s power play against the Bellaries. With some of their biggest enemies behind bars, the two women appear to have finally come out on top. But in the world of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black, no victory comes without consequences.

As Horace’s wife and the chief operating officer of Beauty in Black, Kimmie now has the money, influence, and security she spent years fighting for, along with the freedom to make increasingly dangerous choices. “Absolute power corrupts absolutely,” Williams says. “The more power you have, it just amplifies what was already in you. And this is one of the darker sides of her being amplified by the power and resources she has now.”

That growing darkness complicates Kimmie’s evolving alliance with Mallory. The two women might come from different worlds, but both understand what it takes to survive the Bellarie family — and that they’re stronger together. “They see each other as resources, but there’s a deep understanding there too,” says Williams. “They can do a lot more together.”

Meanwhile, Bellarie head of security — and Kimmie’s former boss — Jules (Charles Malik Whitfield) remains determined to learn the truth about his son’s death. “Grief can be relentless,” warns Williams. “When someone is carrying that kind of pain, they don’t stop asking questions.” And as Jules closes in on the truth, everyone connected to the Bellaries could find themselves in his path.

Find out where Kimmie and Mallory’s alliance leads in the Season 3 ending explainer, then dig into Jules and Gina’s connection and the revenge plot that puts the Bellaries in even greater danger.
