There is unfinished business — and a whole lot of beef — between two of the greatest boxers of all time. More than a decade after their record-breaking “Fight of the Century,” Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. (50-0, 27 KOs) and Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) are officially set to face off again.

The longtime rivals will meet in a highly anticipated rematch on Saturday, Sept. 19, streaming live on Netflix from Sphere in Las Vegas — marking the first boxing match ever held at the groundbreaking venue.

Their first bout in May 2015 became the highest-grossing fight in boxing history, shattering pay-per-view and live-gate records as Mayweather earned a unanimous decision to claim the WBA, WBC, and WBO welterweight titles. Now, Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao will meet again in a matchup that blends drama, controversy, and boxing history, this time on one of the world’s most technologically advanced stages.

“Earlier in my career, I spent weeks in Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao’s training camps in Las Vegas and the Philippines,” shares Gabe Spitzer, Vice President of Sports at Netflix. “It was undeniable that they were the two hardest workers in boxing, and their wins and accolades were a product of that. Bringing this rematch to Netflix is a massive ‘full circle’ moment. We’re thrilled to combine their storied rivalry with the immersive technology of Sphere to deliver a landmark sporting event to our members worldwide.”

The historic rematch is organized and produced by EverWonder Studio, Hidden Empire and Limitless X Holdings. The bout itself is being promoted by Manny Pacquiao Promotions, Mayweather Promotions alongside CSI Sports/Fight Sports.

“I already fought and beat Manny once,” Mayweather says. “This time will be the same result.”

Widely regarded as one of the greatest pound-for-pound boxers in history, Mayweather’s résumé includes victories over the likes of Pacquiao, Canelo Álvarez, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, and Conor McGregor, among others. Now at 48 years old and coming out of retirement, Mayweather looks to defeat Pacquiao for a second time, further cementing his legacy.

MANNY PACQUIAO AT A GLANCE

A global icon known as PacMan, Pacquiao remains one of the most accomplished fighters in boxing history. Hailing from the Philippines, he is the only eight-division world champion, earning 12 major world titles throughout his illustrious career. Pacquiao was also the first boxer to become a recognized four-time welterweight champion, the only boxer to hold world championships in four different decades, and became the oldest welterweight world champion at age 40.

“It’s been 11 years since Floyd and I gave the world what is still the biggest fight in boxing history,” Pacquiao says. “The fans have waited long enough. They deserve this rematch, which will be even bigger since it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to be forever haunted by the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world, and to bring glory to the Philippines.”

Outside the ring, the now 47-year-old’s global impact ranges from politics, as a former senator of the Philippines, to music as a renowned singer and songwriter.

MORE COMBAT SPORTS ON NETFLIX

The Mayweather vs. Pacquiao rematch is the latest chapter in Netflix’s record-breaking expansion into live combat sports.

Netflix recently announced their first-ever mixed martial arts event headlined by the return of former UFC Champion and Olympic medalist Ronda Rousey against fellow women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano on May 16 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

On April 11, boxing legend Tyson Fury will come out of retirement to face Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Netflix’s first-ever live event broadcast from the United Kingdom.

This follows Anthony Joshua’s knockout victory over Jake Paul in December, Terence “Bud” Crawford’s unanimous decision over undisputed super middleweight champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez — the century’s most-watched men’s championship fight — in September, and Taylor–Serrano 3 in July, which was the most-watched professional women’s sporting event of 2025 in the US.

2024 was highlighted by Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson — which drew 108 million live global viewers to become the most-streamed sporting event in history — Netflix’s first boxing match.
