There are few guaranteed roads to WWE’s mountaintop — holding championship gold — and they’re paved with vastly different challenges.
The Royal Rumble match is a test of endurance that requires one superstar to outlast 29 opponents for a guaranteed title shot at WrestleMania. The Elimination Chamber is a perilous path that sticks six opponents within the confines of a steel structure where they must duke it out until the last person standing wins a title shot, also at WrestleMania.
Then, there’s Money in the Bank, a match that features six superstars stepping into the ring with one briefcase suspended high above their heads.
Over the years, Money in the Bank has served as a career-defining event. Whether it’s Liv Morgan catapulting herself atop the women’s division in 2022 by winning the briefcase and cashing it in that same night, or Seth Rollins pulling off a heist by swooping in to cash in his briefcase at WrestleMania 31 in 2015, the iconic moments and championship implications that come with Money in the Bank are unrivaled.
So, how does it all work, and what can be expected from Money in the Bank 2025? Scroll on for everything to know about a monumental event that might well alter the landscape of WWE for the next year.
Six superstars clash in a no-holds-barred, action-packed match, sharing the same objective: Be the first person to climb a ladder and retrieve the briefcase dangling high above, which contains a contract that can be “cashed in” for a shot at any championship belt, at any time during the following year.
And while it’s most common for the Money in the Bank holder to cash in on the WWE Championship or World Championship, the contract is good for any championship belt.
Back in 2022, Austin Theory cashed in his contract for an Intercontinental Championship match against Seth Rollins.
Money in the Bank begins on Saturday, June 7 at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET.
Money in the Bank is at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
Money in the Bank will not stream on Netflix in the United States, but members in the following countries can tune in live on Netflix:
