The Resident initially centers on Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry), a physician in his third year of residency at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Over six seasons, the Atlanta-set medical drama zooms in on the lives of the entire medical staff as they deal with on-the-job crises, romantic relationships, and complicated issues in the health-care industry.
“That’s why I’m here — to help whoever walks through those doors and can’t help themselves,” says Dr. Hawkins. “It doesn’t matter if they eat lobster or roadkill. I take care of them.”
If watching movies and shows is your preferred form of self-care, then be sure to attend to your health with the titles leaving Netflix in November. That includes the acclaimed biopics 42: The True Story of An American Legend and American Sniper, ’90s classics Jumanji and Starship Troopers, and all four seasons of the dark comedy The Big C.
There’s still time to check out these films and series before they go. Program a double feature of movies starring Sandra Bullock (Speed and The Lost City), Julia Roberts (Eat Pray Love and Steel Magnolias) or Jennifer Garner (13 Going on 30 and Catch and Release). Play Nightcrawler, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and The Shallows back-to-back for a day of heart-racing thrillers. Or keep the mysteries coming with all three seasons of Broadchurch. Whatever you pick, maybe don’t stream it while snacking on roadkill.
Make sure to watch all these titles — and plenty more — before they leave Netflix in the US in November.
