There’s nothing like a good vacay: the beautiful sights, the new experiences, the potential connections. For those seeking love — like the duo played by Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page in You, Me & Tuscany or Emily Bader and Tom Blyth’s Poppy and Alex in Netflix’s People We Meet on Vacation — booking airline tickets could be the first step to finding the one.
Who could blame them? When you’re surrounded by stunning vistas and enjoying exciting new experiences, the possibilities seem endless. Should you move to that quaint little town? Could you meet the love of your life while camped out at a seaside cottage? After all, the couples in these jet-setting romances did. Check out the swoon-worthy, globe-trotting flicks below.

Zeynep Altin (Naomi Krauss) needs a vacation. She’s overworked; her husband, daughter, and father don’t appreciate everything she does for them; and her mother just died. So when she learns that her mom left her a cottage on a Croatian island, Zeynep jumps at the chance to get away and spend some much-needed time alone. But then she meets Josip (Goran Bogdan), the house’s former owner, and the two strike up a connection that could change both their lives.

Adam Sandler (Jay Kelly) and Jennifer Aniston (Murder Mystery) co-star in this rom-com about a plastic surgeon, Danny (Sandler), who enlists his personal assistant, Katherine (Aniston), to help him win over a younger woman, Palmer (Brooklyn Decker). After Danny and Palmer have a one-night stand, a misunderstanding leads her to believe he’s married. Rather than admit he’s not, Danny fabricates an impending divorce and gets Katherine to play his soon-to-be ex-wife. The three of them end up on a trip to Hawaii, during which Danny questions which woman he’s really interested in. Dennis Dugan directed this loose remake of Cactus Flower that also stars Nicole Kidman (The Perfect Couple), Rachel Dratch (The Week Of), Heidi Montag (The Hills), and Minka Kelly (Ransom Canyon).

This rom-com from writer-director Mark Steven Johnson (Champagne Problems) stars Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) as Julie, a grade school teacher whose longtime boyfriend (Raymond Ablack) breaks up with her right before a planned romantic week in Italy. She takes the trip anyway, only to discover that her villa has been double booked. Rather than admit defeat, Julie agrees to share the house with wine expert Charlie Fletcher (Tom Hopper), who’s in town for an expo — and the rest is romance-novel-inspired history.

Emily Bader (My Lady Jane) and Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) star in the globe-trotting romance as the free-spirited Poppy and the routine-loving Alex. Even though they live in different cities, they’ve maintained their unlikely friendship for a decade by spending every summer vacation together. But their bond is put to the test when they start to question if they could actually be the perfect romantic match. This adaptation of Emily Henry’s bestselling novel has an ensemble cast featuring Sarah Catherine Hook (First Kill), Jameela Jamil (Marry Me), Lucien Laviscount (Emily in Paris), and Lukas Gage (You).

Will (Jesús Zavala) is a quintessential workaholic: He can’t put down his phone, his boss is constantly harassing him, and the people in his life are concerned he’s not living. When his beloved grandfather Pepe (José Carlos Ruiz) dies, Will puts business on hold to fulfill Pepe’s dying wish, which he outlined in a well-worn notebook: Take a trip to Mexico City to see its most iconic sights and, maybe, fall in love. Ximena Romo (The Day of the Lord) and Gabriel Nuncio (Technoboys) co-star.
