As an NFL quarterback, Tom Brady has spent years getting kicked around on a weekly basis. Brady must like the abuse, since he’s volunteered to take off the pads, sit down and get roasted for an upcoming Netflix special.
Greatest Roasts of All Time: GROAT will air in 2023 and will kick off a series of roasts aimed at reminding some of the greatest names of our time that they too have to put their pants on one leg at a time. (Assuming they don’t pay someone to do that for them.) Brady will serve as executive producer on the specials, as will Casey Patterson, Carol Donovan and RoastMaster General Jeff Ross.
The special is set to tape after Brady wraps up his next season in the NFL, meaning Tampa Bay Buccaneers haters will have one more reason to root for the team’s failure come this fall.
Brady seems ready to get roasted, saying in a press release: “To quote my good friend, Marshawn Lynch... ‘I’m just here so I won’t get fined.’ ” Robbie Praw, Netflix vice president of stand-up and comedy, says the service “can’t wait to burn three-time Super Bowl–losing quarterback Tom Brady, who only went back to the NFL in order to delay this roast.” We’ll get the logs ready for the fire.
