The world’s largest soccer tournament is nearly here, and Netflix is bringing a popular UK soccer podcast to the masses.
The Rest Is Football — hosted by English soccer legends Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, and Micah Richards — lands in New York this summer as a daily show during the duration of the tournament.
The show kicks off on June 10, and will feature game analysis, special guests, interviews, and insights into the on- and off-field action.
“We can’t wait to bring The Rest Is Football to Netflix for the 2026 World Cup,” Lineker says. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the three of us to do what we love — talk football every day — but on a truly global stage. Expect all the usual analysis, honesty, and plenty of laughs. Just with a few more cameras pointed at us, all from the Big Apple.”
The Rest Is Football will be available globally on Netflix, included in all plans. The show will stream at 6 a.m. BST / 1 a.m. ET / 10 p.m. PT and will subsequently become available for rewatch and streaming.
“The World Cup is as big as it gets, and bringing The Rest Is Football to Netflix during the tournament is a brilliant opportunity to get stuck into the football properly,” Shearer continues. “There’ll be huge performances, big decisions, pressure moments, and plenty for supporters to debate — exactly what we love talking about.”
The Rest Is Football is produced by Goalhanger, the team behind The Rest Is History and The Rest Is Politics.
