The In-Laws Meet ‘The Out-Laws’ in This Clip from the New Comedy

And yes, Pierce Brosnan gets a backhanded compliment from Richard Kind.

Meeting your in-laws can be a real pressure cooker — especially when they’re also The Out-Laws. But Owen (Adam Devine) doesn’t know that in this exclusive early clip from the upcoming action comedy. He just thinks he’s meeting a singularly intimidating pair of future family members (Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin). Also along for the ride? Owen’s fiancée, Parker (Nina Dobrev), and his own parents (Richard Kind and Julie Hagerty).

The prospective in-laws get off to a shaky start as they sit down for a friendly meet-the-parents meal. “You’re very attractive,” Kind says to Brosnan. “That’s not a compliment. For me, it’s too much.”

“I told my wife that,” Brosnan tells Tudum. “She just howled with laughter.”

She’s not alone; Kind and Hagerty were two of the most popular people on the set of The Out-Laws. “In between [takes] I just parked my chair right between Julie and Richard,” Dobrev says. “If I ever get any work done, I’ll have to send my bill to him because of the laugh lines that I acquired after shooting this movie, just talking to him in between takes.”

“I can barely keep a straight face even saying, ‘Hello Richard,’ ” Barkin adds. Neither can we.

You can say “Hello Richard” yourself when The Out-Laws hits Netflix on July 7.
